That Canadian accent is going to get annoying

I thought that about Aisha but I'm used to it now, and I'd take the Canadian accent anyday over the Nu Zillund one (no offence to my Antipodean neighbors).

I'm American and the first few episodes last year, I had to rewind almost everything that Caleb or Matt said because I could barely understand them until I got used to hearing them.
In all honesty, Leo sounds more US West Coast to me than the several common Canadian accents that I'm familiar with. It may not stick out to you; but he actually pronounces things with an Australian accent every now and then (natural, I guess, since he's lived there for awhile).

Do accents bother people that much?

They probably bother a tiny sector of our population, who struggle with the concept of the differences and diversity that come with individual countries beyond our Australian shore.

But thankfully that is by no means the majority.

Calm your tits. This isn't a lynch mob. I find Travis and last year's Caleb and Ed to have extremely annoying accents too. I happen to love the way Priya talks.

I'm Canadian and thought he sounded Canadian. I actually understood Caleb quite well but then I'm used to various Southern accents having lived in the South (US). Just as in US there are varied accents in Canada and not as much a difference between Canada & US as people might think.

You'd be surprised at how much accents bother some people. Some people actually don't trust someone who speaks with a different accent. It's not even necessarily a conscious thing. We naturally feel more comfortable with people who feel the same way we do. Lol in time Ryan will lose his Canadian accent as he continues to embrace Australia as his home. His accent is only one of many things people will find to dislike him for I'm sure lol

I do too ... and not just her accent. I love the tone of her voice as well.

Agreed. I also like watching her speak. She talks with her eyes as well as her mouth. A very commanding presence indeed.

I happen to love accents, some more than others. Love listening to my Kiwi and Danish friends!

I have the same accent as Leo and I never considered myself having an accent.. Its so funny to see the reactions of Aussies when they hear Leo. Like when Travis said "He has a weird accent" .. I just laughed.. cuz to me its not an accent. Plus i have been watching BB Australia for years and the accents never bothered me. I love Aussie accents and how they say "brotha" instead of "brother". But in all honesty the word is "brothER".. why do they swap out the "ER" and add an "A"? If the word was suppose to be "Brotha" it would be spelled that way.. idunno.. just my thoughts.

Same. I love a good accent. :D

Not nearly half as annoying as an American accent! It's fine on tv but hearing it in person makes me instantly furious!

Wow... I didn't know people actually got 'annoyed' at accents.

I love hearing different accents. I can't understand why it would annoy you through. They can't help the accent.

If someone speaks in a baby voice or constantly whingey voice then that is a different thing, but accents.. Really?

I don't love his accent but I think it's nice hearing a variety of accents. I find it makes watching the HMs more interesting.
