Tasks ideas for 2025

Journalist task - housemates must spend the week writing defamatory hit-pieces about each other based on private conversations they have engaged in, BB then publishes his newspaper for all the housemates to read on the following nominations night.

What about a “back to school” task?

Ill-fitting uniforms, entirely too small desks, a school bell, big brother becomes the teacher and housemates have to score a certain amount of points by answering questions so they pass the task.

I’m sure someone else would take this idea and make it more interesting though.

Pretty much a BB standard.

What I hope for is proper tasks with a clear objective and consequences for losing. The BBUK tasks are now usually 3 things loosely linked together over a day or two and if they lose they still seem to get loads of rewards anyway, plus further daily tasks to win more throughout the week anyway.

Housemates have to take it in turns to sit by an old rotary phone which can ring any time and must be picked up within one ring, then listen to annoying hold music without hanging up or leaving until BB thanks them for their call and disconnects them.

Could mix that up with some calls ending with a personal reward message for the HM that answered, to give them an extra incentive to answer and keep waiting. But only the very first call and then a few random times during the course of the task. Spark some competitiveness to answer the phone, and jealousy between them.

Ooh! Remember when they had series where when housemates broke rules (minor and major) they were fined $5000?

Instead of that, I think a “rampaging monkey” task in the first week would be helpful to remind housemates about the rules of the house, for example, always wearing your microphone etc.

Every time a housemate breaks a rule, three people dressed entirely in monkey outfits will go to the place in the house where the housemate it and completely trash the place (upend furniture, throw things etc) and it’s the housemates job to clean up after them when they leave. If they break the microphone rule when they are in an outdoors area, monkeys grab the housemate and throw them into the pool. It’s endless entertainment, a chance to remind housemates that rules should be followed and a subtle ploy that Big Brother isn’t fucking around.

If the rampaging monkeys are summoned far too many times, the housemates fail the task and their food budget will not be as robust.

I Like this one, but could add that the person who answers is given a trivia question which they have a limited amount of time to answer without consulting. At the end of this task tally up the amount of failed answers and determine if they pass or fail, then either reward or punish

(punishment, all housemembers must live in back garden for two days without access to house... outside toilets, outside cooking, cold outside showers and sleeping on cots in tents, that have to be put up each night and taken down each morning)

Be amusing if the phone could call at any time day or night so someone has to stay up all night monitoring the phone
Its supposed to be live streamed 24/7 so maybe the housemates will have to do shiftwork to keep the late night watchers happy (and by that I mean all the time not just during this task)

Not so much a task but what if for season 2 they brought back the two house twist and revived a version of FNL? Think of it like a battle style rich/poor divide. Half of FNL would decide what side of the house you live on for the week and the second half would decide who wins some version of the Superpower and access to the Rewards Room. Once the divide ends FNL could either continue as just for the Superpower/Rewards Room or could simply end for the remainder of the series.

Tasks during the two house twist would be head to head with one side or the other winning a luxury shopping budget with the other on just basics.
