Tahan's rich boyfriend and her astronomical saves

Is the problem that her boyfriend of a year earns decent money or is the problem that he's a car driver? Unless BB has a rule I'm unaware of that a HM can't come from a wealthy family, date someone with money or even know someone with cash... I'm not sure what people are complaining about. Boog's comes from a wealthy family too. People have said from day dot that the sisters family is well off. And then there is the Lowers. Are people to be excluded from BB because of how much money their family and friends earn?

I have to agree here but I doubt that BB voting is supposed to turn into a stock market the way her bf has been promoting her in almost everything he does. A lot of pulling power which loved ones of other housemates have not used in such a commercial and exclusive manner

Loving this attention rn xo

Mrs B, I understand that a lot of friends and family would be campaigning for their relative/friend in the house. But when they are getting saved by such massive percentages and it appears most of the difference are votes from relatives/friends then it makes it difficult to swallow. Basically it makes the game less interactive for the public and more based on the wealth of each of the housemate's family & friends. Tahan got over 50% of the votes tonight and Boog & Mikk got about 25% each. If half of Tahan's votes came from her family, then that would mean that it would have been a lot closer. It's just a bit upsetting when basically your votes don't really count. If that makes sense....

You raise a good point, I think people have a difference in the way they evaluate who they think should win - the most "popular" vs. the one who tried the hardest vs. the one who is in most need of the money.

^Respect.

Channel 9 cannot police how much money someone's family has and it would be silly to discriminate on those grounds, however they could do a better job at making sure that things like the Tahan situation don't occur because it DOES give her an unfair advantage that the other housemate's don't have access to.

I understand why you'd feel like what's the point in voting but I think people are severely underestimating the size of Tahan's fanbase and how she has picked up massive support in the past few weeks.

Even from our totally non-scientific Popularity tracker on the forum, look what's happened in 2.5 weeks:

Sept 28th:

Tim +476
Mikkayla +357
Jade +228
Katie & Lucy +140
Nathan +11
Justynn -20
Ben -19
Tahan -26
Drew -160
Ed -209

Tonight 7PM:

Tim +672
Tahan +137
Jade +123
Mikkayla +118
Boog +97
Madaline +61
Drew -108
Ed -359

In that period of time she's gone from being the least favourite female in the house to being the 2nd most favourite of everyone! And look at what's happened to Mikkayla's numbers especially. That's a massive jump for Tahan and her boyfriend's cash can't influence that. Neither can he influence how Mikk's popularity has decreased significantly. Or even Jade's for example. However that "hole" argument was a massive game changer for her popularity as have been a few other things since then. Yeah he's got the cash to vote for her but she also has a truckload of fans now whereas she didn't a short time ago.

I don't think Tahan is being saved because her boyfriend is rich (would he even be that rich?). How would that work to her favour anyway? What can he do? Sit around sending save Tahan text messages all day? Besides even if he sent hundreds of votes each week it would hardly make a dent in the overall scheme of things.

Tahan is being saved because she is hot, perceived as reasonably intelligent, plucky - she is thick skinned, doesn't cry (very often) and knows how to have a good time. And besides who else is there to vote for now?

after reading through that leesalittle thing ^^ Im trying to sort out why they arent doing the same for Ed then if thats what its all about, isnt his brother some sort of football player?? why just make out its all angled toward Tahan winning??

A man is harder to market to other straight men, lol.

I really don't think the forum's popularity tracker is concrete evidence - considering that recently it was revealed people have been cheating. That being said - yes she is being shown in a more positive light as of late. One of the reasons why her popularity has probably increased. I haven't been a fan of Mikkayla but even I noticed her screen time was a lot more negative of late. The same as Jade's. But maybe it's just that they chose to show Mikkayla's and Jade's positiveness and Tahan's negativity towards the start of the show and now have flipped to showing the other side. I think we should see all sides. But BB is really running the game and basically I think the final 3 will be Tim, Tahan and Ed.

I personally don't understand why Tahan's so popular. I also think some people might be a bit ... sheep-like in that they follow what's been preaching. I don't know. I'm not really into media and how things like positive reinforcement (from David) would affect Tahan's popularity overall. I guess we will never know how much impact her family, boyfriend and friends have on the voting but I know that I won't be voting any more. It's disheartening to me. I just don't have the funds to compete with it.

Tahan has fans, i know that may be hard to hear as you obviously don't like her but you need to realise that for tahans percentage to be half payed by her family they would have had to spend $5500 this week. Your votes do count which was displayed with ben's shock eviction.

Does the OP want a bunch of hobos on the show or something? Who cares if they come from rich families. I'm pretty sure Rohan is from a wealthy family and look how he went.

fair enough, but apparently a whole lot of females think he is "gorgeous" and "prince charming" so why not really try and go for the female vote, Im sure there are a lot more of them anyway (could be wrong there dont crucify me for thinking that more girls watch and vote than guys)

I also think having 6 nominees most weeks has added to the perception that Tahan's save percentage is "massive". The only "3 nominee" eviction this year was when Tully left, the highest percentage was 49% for Katie & Lucy. Last year there were more 3 nominees evictions - in 5 out of 7 the highest save was over 45%.
