Here are my thoughts typed out as I caught up in last nights episode. So happy to have Survivor back.
I had forgotten that the last brains v brawn was in the Australian outback.
Back to Samoa! Once again absolutely incredible scenery.
Noonan says when people think of the name they think of her dad and older brothers … ermmm who are they? I think of Katie Noonan the singer hahaha.
Oh dear, Zen says he’s an intelligent brawn. Why do I feel like this won’t age well? I know they makes them pump themselves up in these intro packages, but oh my!
Oh no. Rich with the leather jacket. Dave made it look ok I guess but I can’t stand the thought of wearing that in the humidity of a pacific island.
Speaking of David, has anyone watched Deal or No Deal Island? Is it worth a watch?
Myles a freak in the sheets… spreadsheets that is. Woah. Wait. Stop. He also pole dances. Did not see that coming. Hopefully he can live up to his big Strat game talk.
Max is a primary school teacher. I always think there’s a bit of risk for a teacher to go on a reality show, reputation is important for a teacher. So I hope it all goes well for him. I don’t watch MAFS but apparently there was a teacher whose portrayal was not so positive this year.
They all (mostly) got the colour memo for the teams. Is that normal? I can’t remember that happening before.
I’m so glad they have kept the half million dollar prize. It feels worthy.
Max throwing the bag up and getting it caught on the coil was a massive fail. Brawn deserved that reward after that. It does feel like generally that reward would have been better for a brains tribe. I must say though that it feels like a pretty decent mix on each tribe. It’s not just meatheads v nerds.
lol at Noonan saying part of her cringed and part felt like a proud mum when Zen did his little rap when they were introducing themselves to one another.
Is Nash going to find an idol straight up? NO way he knew how to dig into that hole in the tree that was some crazy luck. I guess it’s also possible he was searching for hours, but it looks way too conveniently quick.
Nash immediately goes and shows Zen.
Zen says Nash is obviously a phenomenal players, why wouldn’t I work with him? Maybe finding an idol kinda forced your hand there.
Nash says he doesn’t care if everyone knows he has an idol…. He wants to flaunt it. Has he vet watched this show before? It’s going to be immediately flushed
. It’s also a poor move to come back to camp where everyone else is working on building the campsite and flaunt it. Such a bad move. Could be one of the silliest moves I’ve ever seen. (* I have a terrible memory to be fair)
Now Max is being dragged over the coals for his silly move. To be fair, if it had worked he would have been hailed a hero. Hindsight is 20/20.
Laura says she’s a witch. Am I reading too much into it or was it an awkward applause afterwards? Like they started applauding before what she said sunk in. I’ll reserve my judgement as to whether I think that someone who thinks they are a witch deserves to be on a brains tribe
The girls are now in a coven. Ok.
Zen has to hide his testosterone and simmer the intelligence he says. I think I’m officially off him.
Nash the rash
Oh helicopter dude is a multi millionaire.
Immunity challenge. Puzzle included. I like this theme, I think it makes them be more intentional to evenly weight out the type of challenges.
Nash immediately opting out of the physical part of the challenge and claims he is good at puzzles. He probably won’t be
Woah the snake of coconuts is 170kg. Is Nash throwing this? He is indeed NOT good at puzzles. He’s in serious trouble…. You know the kinda trouble where a secret idol could have saved you.
I love Australian survivor but we have had some of the UGLIEST immunity idols.
Nash is making such poor decisions. He will probably survive longer than he deserves.
The “power” has gone to his head.
If Candy does go, that’s sad for her. She’s had about 3 seconds of screen time. Same as Ursula really.
Zen tells Nash it’s Ursula. Have these guys watched this show before? It’s mind boggling.
I actually have absolutely no idea who is going home.
So Nash says he wasn’t sure whether Zen was going to tell everyone or not. So maybe he did feel like he had no other choice but to play it openly. I didn’t think he should have even told Zen immediately, but maybe he didn’t feel he could successfully hide it from Zen.
They were all definitely hoping Nash would be arrogant enough not to play his idol.
The look of confusion on Nash’s face was a good shot.
Bye byeeee Candy. We hardly knew thee.
I think their tribe is in a bit of a shambles. Nash might end up being quite entertaining to watch.
Overall though, a good episode. Good to see some strategic players. I’m excited for the season.
