According to colbys exit press on top of the injury he had sustained he also got a staff infection in his foot from walking around barefoot after he had hurt it. The doctors wanted to pull him before tribal but he was pretty sure he was going anyway so he wanted to go through vote out than medical. He really had not tried that hard to scramble cos he would have rather coach stayed in than them both go.

Ugh, if only they'd voted out Coach. I suppose it'll happen soon enough though.

Yeah they all turned on Dee, this is where I think being friends with players isnt good for personal game. They're all telling each other everything. The idols are useless. Jonathon, the one that seems least capable of deception, was the one able to manipulate reactions almost immediately after tribal.
Still feels a bit like the Christian and Ricks show, but its watchable enough. Happy for Ozzy to get an immunity win, he's the sort that needs that kind of ego boost. I actually like Riz, Cirie and Ozzy playing together, fun bunch. That team up will get them deeper into the game. Its harder to decipher alliances between the rest, they'd all turn on each other at this stage.
Stefanie getting her screen time in is what the audience wants to see, but a bit of a boring one to watch. Maybe it was filmed that way to be as torturous to the audience as it was for Stefanie. Similarly, Coach scenes.

50 is shit in comparison to AU. It's a bore after coming off such a great aussie season. The fake eyelashes and perfect eyebrows are a bit much.
I want to like it...but the Australian series is just so much better as a game.
The challenge was a good one though, I picked a team and cheered for them and they won. Im not a Tiff fan but it would have been too easy for her to go next so I was glad she was safe. Joe looked like he had been oiled up for the immunity crowning.
Then it was pretty obvious who was next on the chopping block, he got all of his content out. Glad that two had to go tonight, chrissy has been a nothing player all season and it gets the numbers down quick. Devens fake idol was just a meh moment. Im sick of Christian and devens, ready for them both to bugger off now.
I hope Cirie wins the season cos shes the one whos worked the most hours on the show!

What are you talking about? It was a great moment. It literally saved his ass and caused everyone to change the target, creating an exciting live tribal.
Blind freddy could see Coach was next. He had an entire montage and even final words. A lot of the whispering at tribal was about if it was fake idol or not. Most of the whispering was saying stick to the plan. This cast should know Devens is known for fake idols. Especially when he wouldn't show it when Stefanie asked.
I wanted Devens and Aubry to go, but once Cirie came back with her vote, it was clear they were going to follow her direction. I was hopeful until that point. When Cirie said target Coach, it was all over for him and Chrissy. Chrissy cemented her fate when she told Cirie that Riz was on her radar. Joe put up a good fight for Coach but he was only one number, the rest were decided before they even got to tribal. Cirie, Ozzy, Rizz, Emily, Aubry, Devens, Christian and Tiff were all voting for Coach even before tribal, Joe had to stick with his alliance, the only other vote that the idol might have flipped, is Stefanies. Coach, Chrissy, Jonathon, simply did not have the numbers unless the other side split votes. Coach lost his vote for the shot in the dark, Chrissy burned hers on Riz and Emily. The fake out was not required. Meh.

It is befitting for Coach to go out in what is likely his last time in a tribal with some fanfare - some fake pomp and circumstance, and the ability to quote Magellen one last time, rather than just a whimper. I am pleased Devens did it, even if he didn't need to.

It could have been a toss up between these two teams - I think for the games of the people I want at the end the right people went home. I don't want the final 3 consisting of Joe and Johnathon. Actually my worst final 3 would be Rizo, Joe and Johnathon.
I will be happy if 1 or more are in the final 3 and hopefully wins: Ozzy, Cirie, Christian, Emily, (I would have Genevieve and Colby there too if it wasn't for the stupid bloodmoon)

It's looking like it will be Ciries alliance (Rizz, ozzy) vs Christians alliance (Devens, Aubry) from here on in. That's why I was so disappointed they didnt take out Devens and Aubry out and obliterate Christians alliance. Its seems a bit too predictable and I hope I am wrong - more fun if I am! Aubry can be a bit of a pushover and its hard to understand why she blew that idol if she had those two on her side. We'll see what Devens does with this fake going forward...
Jonathan and Joe do not like Rick Devens, so they might have something up their sleeve. Jonathan is actually playing way better than expected. So he might surprise us - I assume he's still going to be a big target once the singular immunities really kick in. Neither of them are smart enough players to take out the pre 40 players, so I will be surprised if either of them does get anywhere near the final. Maybe more of these tribal twists will mix it up.

All I can say is thank fuck coach is out. I didn’t enjoy him on Tocantins, couldn’t stand him in Heroes vs Villains, loathed him on South Pacific and I really didn’t need to see him on 50 either.

I unfortunately think Ozzy is getting the winners edit so far. Cirie has a shot, but like every season she's an amazing character so she's always going to get a good edit, Christian is pretty similar though he's had more strategic control this season than his first season premerge at least. With Ozzy every time he's made a mistake this season we've seen him correct course and that's been highlighted in the edit, whereas the seasons where he's come up short his cockiness has been left the edit. So either he's getting a fake winners edit like Sophie in Waw or he actually is going to win I'd say.
I just saw this concept mentioned in another thread.
If Aubry had not played her idol the previous week, and Coach's shot in the dark had hit it could have been Advantageddon - the return:
Cirie is safe.
Tiffany and Joe won immunity.
Coach hits his SITD for himself and Chrissy.
Aubry and Rick are now the next biggest target, so Aubry would have played her idol for them both.
this would have triggered Rizo to play his idol for himself and Emily.
Ozzy is forced to play his idol for himself and Stephanie.
Christian and Jonathan are out of the game by virtue of not having any way to make themselves immune - Neither of them did a shot in the dark as they didn't think they were in danger.

The Shot in the Dark is completely rigged anyway.
If production wants to save someone, they just put "Safe" on all the scrolls so that no matter which one is picked, that person will be safe. Similarly, if it's someone they're willing to lose, they just put "Not Safe" on all scrolls.

Anyone else finding it infuriating having to wait a week for a single episode?
As flawed as the Aussie series was, at least we got a few episodes a week to tide us over...

Yeah I wish they’d just dump the whole season in one hit and let us binge it. Or at least maybe 4 episodes at a time over 4ish weeks.

Excellent ep! Possibly one of my favourites of the season. I am so happy with that boot! Some real nice shots of Jonathon, Ozzy and Joe in this episode too.
Loved the sassy Jeff flashback. It was fun when he was meaner
I always enjoy the cast being fed too, like Emily says, it brings their personality back. I was worried in the lead up to tribal that they wouldnt take the shot on Christian when they had it, but so pleasantly surprised that they did! I thought for a moment they might target Emily, going for a minion over the boss, but they wised up and took the shot. I am absolutely delighted, because 1. I was bored of his face and 2. I thought he was going to win it.

I thought he was going to win it. I tend to compare the Aussie seasons to a soapie, and the US seasons to a major movie production. The aussie producers are totally underappreciated in their ability to provide watercooler talk after nearly every episode, a few times a week. Where as Survivor US has dragged out the episodes for a longer run time, without the conversational content.
