So what's going to happen now?

I saw that there won't be a big brother Australia this year or the next, what's going to happen?

Didn't somebody say that if nine doesn't make another season they'll loose the rights of the show?

I think life will go on pretty much as normal. I mean there are still other reality tv shows, including international big brother's, to watch. I do hope it comes back someday in a much better format and not that pale imitation that we saw last year.

Meanwhile, I will just sit back in hope and twiddle my thumbs.

Well ill be happy to just watch Masterchef and the block and the biggest lever while I wait for BB to return. Sigh* I think it's axed for good personally. I'll be happy if it comes back but only if it's not on nine. But I'm not expecting anything till 2017. I'm not too sure about next year. After hearing about the house I'm not expecting anything next year

These last few years all of the Big Brothers I've watched have seemed to be interfereabce-heavy. UK Time bomb, to example, or the current BBUS, where the 'twist' was that there would be a celebrity 'takeove' every week. It has been building up, the instances of Big Brother changing the game, sometimes with real influence on who goes home, who is nominated etc.

BB Takeover, however, has already seemed to have dropped the schtick these last few weeks - perhaps because they realised that their cast was perfectly capable of being entertaining and playing BB without interference.

So, perhaps the pendulum is swinging, and when BBAU returns, it will be in a 'classic' mode. A change of network would be perfect for that.

With all the changes in major network shareholders, producers, production companies, the Coomera Town Centre development etc, I think it's pretty hard to make a definitive call.

That said;

Life will carry on and all us hard core fans will wither and die, then somebody will pick it up again and a whole new breed of teenagers and young adults will marvel at the next incarnation of Big Brother AU. :meh:

I have only watched Australia, but I have wondered if the casts had been left without the produced antics how interesting they would have been to watch. I think those that make these show think we need the other stuff to be entertained, but actually want most viewers of BB actually want to see is real human interactions, some great conversations, how relationships grow and change, and observing how they can amuse themselves. would more people have tuned into last years Australian BB if they hadn't have tinkered so much... or were the HM's so boring they had to? We will never know :(

Well, it's been confirmed that the house is only being dismantled from last year (similar to how it was after 2008), not necessarily demolished. Even if the show isn't returning in the near future it's too much of a bonus for Dreamworld to utilize the space as storage, etc, even if the shell starts to rot (again, like it did after 2008).

It's sad that the show was treated so poorly in the end but an "official" cancellation was inevitable (even though they still haven't actually said it's not coming back... they've even referred to GO being another channel for the series again). Today's media embargo ("House being dismantled", "It's time to go...", etc) is purely an elaborate way of Nine confirming that it has no plans to return the show this year.

It is not THE end... I think it's safe to say we'll see Big Brother return in some form... even if it is 10 years down the track...

The fact that it was revived after a long break and still did VERY well proves that Australia will always have an audience for this show, and I think the networks know that. There's new teenagers every year!
It'll be back.

Also, I'll just drop this new article in here:

Big Brother house is not being dismantled

It's not time to go, just yet, for the Big Brother house.

Dreamworld CEO Craig Davidson has rejected reports that the Big Brother house, which is located inside the perimeter of the Gold Coast theme park, is being "dismantled".

He said the house will be kept in a condition to make it readily available for another series.

"The Big Brother house at Dreamworld is currently not being dismantled and is still available for further productions," Davidson told AAP.

The Nine Network has all but confirmed the show will not be returning this year despite a call-out for prospective housemates during the final weeks of the 2014 season.

The show's absence has fuelled media reports that the Big Brother is in the process of being dismantled.

Nine says it's yet to make a "definitive" decision on the future of the reality TV show.

The series first aired on Network Ten in 2001 where it ran for seven years.

Nine bought the rights to Big Brother in 2012 and made it more family friendly and it has so far aired three seasons of the show.

Dreamworld has been the home of Big Brother ever since it aired.

The current US series is kind of average, on TV, but the live feeds have been stellar. Pleas3 learn something, bbau producers. That said, my hopes will never be high while it is on channel 9.
