Reggie to take on the jungle

I don't know if you've heard, but the queen of Big Brother is after a third crown, and is competing in this year's "I'm a Celebrity, Get me out of Here!" which starts tonight.

I have mixed feelings about this. It will be great to see Reggie on our screens again, but I'm worried. She's nearly 100% blind now. Of course that shouldn't stop her from doing anything she wants to do, but how are they going to ensure her safety in such a dangerous environment? How is she going to compete in the challenges?

But I digress, Go Reggie!!!FB_IMG_1737234577701.jpg

Well after last years Strictly (DWTS UK) being blind is just no excuse. I think people forget that those who are blind (or have another disability) live with it every day and have to adapt to everything around them, and a new challenge such as this is no different. It's down to producers to adapt things where necessary to be as inclusive as possible - many trials are touch and taste based anyway.

It’s not unheard of for “Celebrities” to be excused from a trial on medical grounds so I imagine they’ve had conversations with her about what she can/can’t participate in as well as making any necessary adjustments to camp to make it easier on her. In fact I think she’s got a huge advantage because of her disability.

She said that.

She said if it's snakes & spiders in her peripheral vision, she won't see them & will be fine. lol

The producers can get into trouble for disability discrimination for willfully excluding a blind person from their show.

I like that they’re including her, if she’s blind, knows what to expect and still wants to go in then why not..

I feel like Reggie being on I’m A Celeb begins the priming phase for 10 viewers leading into full scale promotional campaigns later in the year. Associating the formats with each other is a really smart decision by the producers and the network, I wouldn’t be surprised if they also did it with Gogglebox as well, 10 ought to be chasing after their viewers.

I like your thinking there. :3

Yes - didn't think about it being Big Brother promo (which wouldn't break any holdback clause). Guess they might throw her on Deal or No Deal afterwards too.

If you think about it I’m a Celeb’s audience is largely transferable to BB and it restarts that conversation with the audience who may have watched Reggie in 2003, building positive momentum leading into the revival
