Reddit production tea

The show was a mess in the first week but had some promise and they appeared to be making small improvements. What happened this past week (week #2)? The show has very quickly become borderline unwatchable. I’ve watched the last 3 episodes on catch up via 10Play after watching every previous episode live and each time I’ve found myself scrolling through my phone or skipping through most of it. Such a shame. I can’t see myself seeing through the remaining couple of weeks.

The funny thing is the network & production team had the perfect template streaming the original channel 10 series on YouTube in the lead up. All they had to do was try and mimic the original run’s feel and format (Albeit on a much smaller scale/budget) and they would have killed it! “Badder Big Brother” “Raw and unfiltered” “OG” “Interesting housemates with no influencers” “Event television”. How many times did we hear these types of things in the lead up which turned out to be nothing but false, meaningless hype?

Channel 10, the producers, Mel, and the show itself has lost all credibility as well after the promo campaign made promises that the show itself has completely undelivered on (Or neglected completely). The promo and build up in 2026 is not going to fool the fans again. They’ve swiftly used up any and all goodwill from the fan base in just 1 season. Can see myself tuning in for the first few episodes next year and if it’s the same as this season I’ll tap out like I did with the Channel 7 iteration.

So it is what I expected.
I don’t know if this is 10 not allowing enough budget or Endemol just being stingy. But it does seem that the crew working are clearly inexperienced and likely graduates etc that are on a lower pay scale to keep costs down. This is in no way a criticism of the people who are working on the program at a crew level. They are all clearly doing the best the can but it brings the issues to light and that are ultimately being seen in the show (the audio mixing on the live shows being a glaring issue)

I would say 10 may have been the ones to say Dec 8th finish. I agree the production quality of the live shows are pretty awful. I really would love to know who it is that is trying to push the Love island direction.

Either way I hope they can all regroup next year and 10 can say that they need an improve in production quality, adequate crew and budgeting.

I'm now cautiously casting some doubt on the second post as there is a clear error in this reply:

Double evictions would still leave eight by the finale, as there are only two Sunday Evictions shows before the finale on the 8th, so how could the plan be six in the finale with a snap eviction only in the event the intruders go in?

The poster has said production is not exactly going off of a concrete production schedule or template.

Nothing wrong with what they said there.

Including this Sunday, there are 3 evictions to go. All doubles turns that to 6 housemates. Monday finale the day after

If this gets a reply, we should know whether they are actually part of the crew or not:

Fuck. I didn't realise the calendar I was looking at had Monday as the first day of the week, not Sunday. 😂

Was thinking the finale was a Sunday looking at it.

Your submission won't be considered if my guess.

I'm guessing the vote is for HOH and my guess is that they want an "active public social media profile" to see posting habits and who you support for narrative purposes.
Thinking they’ll want posting habits so they can find a Colin stan that will give him HOH to save Holly with the twist and buy her another week. Let’s them play her as the villain one more time then work a redemption arc the week after.
Doubt those Reddit posts are genuine crew, but would think it’s pretty accurate speculation.

She is beyond redeeming and if she winds up actually getting put up for eviction and ends up staying, the viewers will definitely know something is fishy.

Although the producers nor the network would want the integrity of the show to be questioned, leading to viewers tuning out....

I don't think much will change. Should have seen a dropoff after that HOH twist and nothing happened.

Looking forward to seeing how they save their favourites tomorrow. I would not be shocked if the callers are handpicked specifically for that reason.

A second one has just been posted - wonder if these are legit or not. I’m inclined to believe them 100%.

I saw one earlier and the way it was written by AI had me suspicious. But reading this one, I believe that this is real 100%. To produce the bullshit they have and continue to get absolutely read for filth everywhere online by both OG and NEW fans, I have no doubt that there is a lot of friction internally. They honestly need someone who has never worked on Love Island or MAFS and even Big Brother, make them watch the OG seasons to learn the recipe and bring a completely fresh lens without that external influence. Those shows do great for their demographic, BB is different and should harness that uniqueness with a clear approach. Fuck I've never been a producer and could confidently say I could do a better job than these people based on passion alone.

They might have been able to go unseen by production if it stayed only on reddit, but this thread will have definitely brought it to production's attention. The crew are probably messaging each other as word of a shitstorm spreads and someone is on a warpath to find who is behind those accounts.

Kinda how like when a DM Tim Dormer sent someone on here went public, and then Nine nixed him from his planned recurring role in 2014 when he was confronted and confirmed it was real.
