Prize money for 2nd and 3rd was a bit measily

Why so little.

Tahan only gets $5000 for coming third and Jade $10,000 for coming second.

I would have thought second gets $50,000 and third $30,000.

Considering all the ads they got the housemates to do I thought that was pitifully low prize money for the length of time they were in there for.
 
It is pretty sad. You guys pay to vote as well. The show is really raking in the money. I'm still glad they got SOMETHING, but that is pretty lame.

Yep - Channel 9 are PATHETIC at giving prizes to the housemates! God, I remember when EVERY evictee got a CAR!
 
Don't they get paid to be in the house while they are there? BBUS players are given a weekly stipend while they are in the game. But I have to agree that if you are going to have prize money for 2nd and 3rd it should be more impressive than that.

I would think so, happens in the UK version too.

The prizes were a bit sad, and just an opportunity to squeeze some more advertising. But it's better than nothing I suppose.

Holy cow! Now all the producers get cars I guess. lol Wow they are really cheap. I'm sure that show made a TON of money ... they just don't want to give it to the cast.

So does anybody know how much they make a week to be on the show? And they had BETTER be paid for that at least!

They only make $500 per week. But it's for the entire length of their contract, not just the weeks that they are on TV. So it goes a week or so before launch episode until after the finale.
 
I admit 5k and 10k really was pathetic, especially in this day and age. The TV for Jade was a bit stupid too. It's an impressive TV for sure but where the hell is she going to put the thing? ...... Sadly maybe Eds apartment. Sell it to him girl, no discounts!

Yeah I don't know what Jade is going to do with that tv. Maybe she can sell it.
 
Was a bit paltry ($10k/$25k would be about right), but more than they usually get isn't it - apart from the years when everyone got a car.

The winners prize was probably the lowest ever - last years was boosted with a car and I'm sure something else too. I bet in series 1-3 they got something extra too.
 
With all the cash they raked in with voting, BB didn't give them anything? The $10K and $5K weren't even from the show, but from Ambi-Pur. Think how much money Tahan and Jade's voters made for the show. Tahan probably pulled in more than anyone else, including the winner.
 
They all got cars last year, didn't they? I wonder why they didn't this year.

I couldn't help but laugh at Tahans prize money. A bit stingy, but there you go.
