Nastiest house ever!?

Yeah but it was a big group against one or 2 individuals. Ditto 2012 - it was the majority clique who hated estelle and ray. But this year, there's arrows being fired by all people in all directions.

how is a big group ganging up on one or 2 individuals not worse? thats bullying pure and simple, at least atm everyone is bitching about everyone so its kind of fair.

I dont believe that anyone in this house is particularly nasty yet. Gossipy, backstabbing, bitchy maybe, but not overtly nasty....but as was said earlier maybe the real meanie to this point is BB himself. I hadnt thought about it until Raphael mentioned it but it seems to be true.
How was this year's Big Brother mean? He's even more tamer than ever.

Actually I think the meanest this year is BB himself. The ritual humiliation of Gemma on the first eviction was inexcusable. Making the hm's hit Lawson with that fish repeatedly tonight. They were obviously told to hit him HARD because I don't believe they would have belted him like that of their own accord. His face was bleeding after SAMs first hit and a couple of those hits looked hard enough to have dislocated his jaw had they hit in the right spot. Another example is that I have seem more footage of Sam awkwardly climbing those stairs than any other hm. Is he waiting for him to fall or does he think it's funny to see him struggle when he knows Sam has difficulty climbing up stairs. At least he got some laughs from SAMs stair climbing tonight.

See above which I agree with.

And Im not complaining about Big Brother....he's pretty awesome compared to his contemporaries in other versions and is one of the reasons I love watching BBAUS. Great snarky sense of humor that none of the others have. Not as much in evidence yet this year as last but still there.

Most times someone is called to the diary room you see them going up the stairs so maybe that's conformation bias, nobody is making him do it for a laugh. Yes he looks a bit awkward because he obviously has to walk differently to others going up stairs but come on an active guy like him who's won gold medals at the paralympics and plays Aussie rules and rugby is hardly going to want to be treated differently over some stairs that he's perfectly capable of climbing. I'm sure they would have talked about it beforehand.

Of course a big group targeting one or 2 people is worse. I never said that the level of vitriol in the house was higher this year (nothing will beat Ben/Stacey/Josh/Michael/Zoe vs Estelle); that wasn't my point. As you have also mentioned, my point was that mud is being slung every which-way, instead of 1 or 2 people being scapegoated.

Having not watched overseas versions apart from the odd episode I caught when I was living in the UK (didn't even own a TV there, but the guy with the Tourette's syndrome won from memory) I never realised that other Big Brother's had a different vibe to ours. Can anyone recommend a great overseas season that is worth watching?

Gemma's eviction was just a gimmick for more views and ratings. They wanted something 'different'. It wasn't Big Brother being a 'meanie'. The housemates were the cruel idiots for not standing behind Gemma, when they saw the majority being behind Jake. :vomit:

Big Brother isn't the director. He just voices and does what the scriptwriters/directors tell him to do. The camera being on Sam was an innocent act, as they routinely show every housemate going up the stairs - so why not him?

Either way, no one would beat the meanness of ch10 Big Brother.

Don't ever watch French BB (Secret Story) Big Brother give them missions for money all the way through the show. The missions are all to create conflict in the house. I find them cruel sometimes, but the French take it as a game, in the end everyone is happy. I have cried a few times and I don't like all the missions. For sure BB AU is very, very mild.

That word "Bully", for every little upset is ridiculous IMO. Even Estelle and Tully survived their BB experience.
People are not that fragile, what if we lived in one of those countries at War?

It certainly is.

The housemates are not really nasty people. All l I am trying to say and that they are actually so nice this season that BB looks nasty in comparison at times and a couple of incidents were provided. Suffice it to say there are no potential Evel Dicks, Amanda Zuckermans, or Frankie J Grandes lurking in this lineup.

Obviously production was aware of how the Gemma vote would be turning out before they did it that way and while not a beheading it was a bit humiliating for her.

And yes everyone is aware of who is pulling the strings and that BB is just a voice....but the guy who does it has a wicked sense of humor and a great listenable accent for those of us not from Australia.

Hopefully that wraps this up.
