Michael and his hygiene

I agree.

The only thing I think is bad form is using someone else's toothbrush without their permission. Plus using other people's toothbrushes and razors can spread diseases like hep-c and HIV so I'm stunned that Michael isn't mindful of this. Having said that, I missed that footage and am only going on what people are saying here, in that he used someone else's toothbrush.

However having long messy red hair etc doesn't mean he is unhygienic and smelly. Seems such a bizarre equation to make.

I honestly think that all of this foolishness stems from the fact that Michael has long hair. Men with long hair are often accused of being dirty and unwashed. It's related to the "smelly hippy" stereotype. It makes so little sense that I find it hard to believe that the people making such claims are actually taking themselves seriously.

I wouldn't bat an eyelid personally. When cooking with my nonna she is always dipping her finger in for a taste. I do the same thing. I make sure I wash my hands before cooking however I'll have multiple tastes with the same spoon, often feed spoonfuls of food from the same spoon for a taste to my friends and it just doesn't bother any of us. I think friends and family tend not to get so anal about things like that. My guess is that after all this time together in the house, they feel close enough not to mind such behaviour. If they did, and if Michael smelled I do think we'd hear about it in the form of gossip inside the house, if not in nominations.

If you were at a mate's place and they did that while cooking you dinner, would you be fine with that?
