I'll start this one off, as the new season begins on Sunday night on Ten.
All new contestants, and endless celebrity guests too(judging by the promos), including Robert Irwin and Jimmy Barnes, and Meghan Markel too - she got paid an appearance fee for appearing as a guest judge in one episode.

Cool :) Im on board. Its been super fun to have a forum for the reality tv run :D Forums are so much easier for me than other social media.
I hate cooking, but masterchef always draws me in. And then makes me hungry, so I end up cooking. My neighbours love it cos they get the leftovers and I gain about 10 kilos.

I was just looking to see if a thread had been started for tonight.
Thanks Evan.
I went to an Neil Perry restaurant last week. He was actively there. I was impressed.
Made me look forward to this tonight.

Watching it on WA time.

I still think 4 judges is a bit much. But I can see why they have all 4. Whatshername in the white is certainly showing off her assets. I love Poh forever in all she does always, so I'm happy whenever shes on my tv. Andy looks like his suit is a bit baggy. He looks like the younger scruffy version of the french dude.

Everyone in their grandmas aprons? I always say every year, that everyone who wants to be a chef has probably never worked in a commercial kitchen lol. Food has never been my passion, I hate cooking and I hate cooking shows - but this show always sucks me in regardless.

Yes, thats another good point to this show - the ingredients matter! Clever man going for the marron, if he can cook it well. The better ingredients make the better meal.

This curly hair menopause lady can set an impressive table, but I dont think I could ever eat octopus after that Timothy scene from The Boys.

Nigerian? I wouldn't be able to name a single dish, so this will be interesting to me!

Finally someone doing sweets! I need to make an apple pie and I am useless at them. Its ok to be crazy on masterchef with cakes - worked for Poh!

Peruvian will be interesting too :D Nice to see them branching out of Asia with food and contestants.

Oh lord, who said "thats giving chef" Thats giving cringe.

Dont worry too much about the presentation Jackie, as long as the "flavours are there".

Burned octopi up first. Please don't name the dish Timothy :(

Raw fish next, doubt he will get the same sort of reception. Ink noodles are not up my alley either. Montage moved too fast for me to get a sense of the rest. Judges giving false hope to many. Imagine if they didn't give the white apron to Olalu after the chanting lol. Now on to the poor dishes. Cool to hear some real cooking tips from the judges here.

Onto the cake! Drama! Cut to advert. Love the reflection off the trophy just as the judges taste the cake - foreshadowing? Poh likes it! So, off to a good start :D Might have a fave in the kitchen already. No instant apron? Aw that's sweet that Poh presents the apron.

Dumpling man looks exactly like you'd expect a dumpling man to look. Another white apron.

Lets see how Luke the marron man goes, I cant cook gnocci to save myself, I get the frozen stuff now! Im happy he did well, the young ones are great because they can set up a career easily from here, even off screen. He's the right age to potter off and do an apprenticeship.

I think I like this format for getting the apron. Its not as slow as the one by one story on a trolly, and its exciting to all be in the kitchen getting a proper masterchef experience. Even second chance experience!
