MasterChef 2025: Back To Win 2

At least Callum did win the original All Stars charity season back in 2012. Otherwise thank god that is over, Masterchef desperatly needs to focus on regular cooks next year and the season needs to be at least 6 weeks shorter next time. This year's pacing was deplorable.

Exactly. It needs to get back to the original format; everyday home cooks.

I feel like most of the audience would agree, a lot of the reception online has been pretty negative. And to add this season has averaged at 760,000 whilst last year managed 820,000 and the year prior 810,000.

Only 784,000 for last night's finale, that is without any consolidation however. But even if it manages to lift to 950,000 odd that is well down on last year's 1.1 million and 2023's 1.19 million. A season of Survivor would have fared better.
 
Oh yes, the online reaction to the finale was savage, viewers aren't stupid - they know when a certain outcome or result has been manufactured.
I'm not surprised either that the ratings last night were well down on 12 months ago - there was virtually no suspense and the drama was totally manufactured.
Enough of bringing back contestants who've had a go before trying to win Masterchef, let's see all new cooks in 2026, and they need to introduce blind tastings to eliminations or pressure tests. And enough of Andy Alan - his dislike of Callum and Sarah this season was so obvious.
 
I knew Callum was from SA and I just realised Laura was too.

Fun fact - Callum is the same age now that Poh was when she came 2nd in season 1! :)
 
I agree, blind tastings! I’m surprised they haven’t taken advantage of having four judges to do that jet. 4 nights a week allows for each judge to host each cook and the other 3 can rotate judging. Or they can even alternate duos. It’s a simple solution to maintain the show’s integrity.

Also MasterChef is not survivor, there isn’t need to bring back alumni so often. A lot of the resume building happens post show when they all venture out into the industry, I feel like 90% of their job listings this year were chef/caterer.
 
If you ever want to watch a you tube channel with a combination of chefs and what they term normals (friends of the chefs who have been involved with the channel for years) so probably better than average but no professional training then I can recommend Sorted.

They do all sorts of challenges, tastings etc. I have linked their website which will take you to their you tube page if interested.
