Masterchef 2017

Wasn't Matt your favourite last year? You and Gary really seem to have it in for each other. ;)

...I was barracking for Matt nearly the whole time last year but Gary and George treated him like scum because he didn't want his own restaurant but merely a food truck... jeez they treated Matt like shit... they talked down to him and belittled him whenever possible... just like they are Callan as I said... I detest Gary and George for that... cheers.

...thanks all for the fun and comments folks!... I missed the start of the show but managed to catch up with the help of you brilliant people on here... well done on Ben for winning that!... my poor Sarah "missed it by THAT much!" (as Maxwell Smart used to say)... better luck next time Sarah... thanks all... now to watch Doctor Who and Whovians... cheers.

Temple... "has been here for 1400 years".

*Tamara nods like she knows it well
.
Missed the show unfortunately but i did see this in the few early minutes I managed to glimpse.
Her mannerisms and reaction to the 1400 year old temple was so fake artificial and basically childlike.
Someone relays a historical fact to give some perspective to where they are and your reaction is to nod manically and look overcome with excitement at this news and theatrically smirk to imply that it is a very important thing to know.
Im extrapolating the shit out of this but to me that little interlude exemplified her character.

How can you win a chance to win a guaranteed immunity? That seems to be what Ben has, but how is that any different than a chance to win a regular common or garden variety immunity? If it's guaranteed then he gets it no matter what, whether he cooks or not. If it's the immunity itself that is "guaranteed", it's no different to any other week.

Matt Preston was offering more than advice to Karlie when he told her that deep fried pickles were horrible. If it had been one of the boys he would have just stroked his beard and said it was "interesting".

I wonder what the budget per contestant was. Nine serves of the most expensive wagyu steak, plus some extras for the judges to scoff.

Me too Mr Sticky. I tolerated the Voice finale, then watched and enjoyed MasterChef, but saved the best for last, I'm off to watch Doctor Who and Whovians now.

And thank you for my dashing livery Mr S. A most unexpected but welcomed surprise.

...no worries my friend... it was fun to do for someone that cracks me up so many times lol!... "swings and roundabouts"... as they say lol!...

like mine it doesn't move in the thread but is oh so pretty if I click on it!

...yes for some reason they aren't working in the threads themselves unless you actually click on the Avatars... I'm doing them exactly the same way as I've always have done before and they're all within the size limits allowed on the forums so I'm wondering whether Admin needs to 'allow' something perhaps from their side possibly?... I dunno... it's just weird...

Yep. Me too. Like a private show.:D
Mr S is just a gem of a bloke.

...you guys and gals are so kind... thanks for the nice words... cheers.

...you are so spot on with that 'guaranteed immunity' bullshit Meglos... what else does he have to do?... go to bed with one of them?... oh wait!... he's a bloke eh?...

...and that is so right about Matt offering Karlie 'advice'... you nailed it in fact... the bias and favouritism of them is way out of hand now and the part that shit's me?... they don't even TRY and hide it anymore... they slap us in the teeth with their openness about it which is in turn showing their utter contempt towards us viewers... I hate it!... yet nobody does a thing about it on the show... it just sucks balls big time!... cheers

...it was a fabulous episode but I have a couple of 'gripes' about certain aspects of it as I will mention when I write my final opinion on it sometime tomorrow... (I won't watch 'Whovians' until after I written my opinion on the episode first though as per usual... a great episode but... lol!... cheers.

Usually they pick top three who battle against each other. The winner of those three then gets to battle the guest chef - thus only winning the possibility of immunity. They have to beat the other two contestants PLUS the guest chef.
Occasionally they will skip the guest chef and the three who qualified only battle each other with the winner automatically getting the pin. So it is guaranteed someone will get it.
Perhaps that's what is happening here.

...ahhhhhhh!... **the penny drops**... that makes complete sense there qtkt... thanks for explaining that to us... that's probably what is happening then... they just love to complicate things don't they?... perhaps it's a test to see if we're still actually watching the show despite what Gary and George are constantly doing perhaps?... lol!... cheers.

Thanks qtkt,

So what is on offer is a guaranteed CHANCE to win immunity, not a "chance for guaranteed immunity". They do love to hype things up to make it sound better than it is, they've already scripted whether he wins or loses.
