50 years of color TV, whether it be talent not knowing what to wear, travelling conmen trying to rip off viewers, or politicians claiming credit, this revolution had it all.

Do any of you remember the excitement of the march into colour TV?

I am old enough to remember when black and white television started. and I was one of the first in the neighbourhood to have a colour TV

that would have been awesome, what was it like to first view TV in full colour glory?

It was a lot of money back then the TV a 26 inch Phillip with a new antenna cost me $1,000 and my wage back in 1975 was about $75 a week so work it out that was 13 full weeks wages.

i don't think you needed a new antenna to pick up color TV signals, that was one of the scams going around at the time as per the above article.

I needed an antenna as the family tv was in the louge room and I had the TV set up in my bedroom which was at the other end of the house.
