You are right about the intelligence diversity. As for the first comment, I was not referring to that. I was reading through the profiles and feel that the contestants have various cultural backgrounds. This is good to see.

Watched a few clips on YouTube tonight and this show really does nothing for me... Just as I said before as a rip off of the classic but trashy Paradise Hotel it comes off as a very poor reproduction... Didn't you people say this show was supposed to be better?

...well in my case alone Affable... (I can't speak for others) so far I have found that the show has no direction whatsoever... it's aimless at the moment for me... we're just seeing plastic people that are devoid of much personality just sitting around and mumbling sweet little nothings to each other so far... we see nothing whatsoever of Sophie (which is the only real reason that got me here to be honest because I really like her)... she may aswell not be on the show at all up until this point...

..also... whereas in the Bach seasons... their conversations are more focused upon and made more 'intimate' whereas you feel like you're sitting by and are 'accidentally' overhearing their intimate chats with each other but in this show it makes you feel like you're hiding in some bushes and are 'stalking' them and listening in on their conversations... (that makes it weird for me at least) but I just put that all down to the fact that Channel 9 are totally shit at producing ANY quality 'Reality' shows whatsoever... hence the reason that my TV very rarely turns onto Channel 9... I've nearly managed to wipe out Channel 9 from my viewing habits altogether but have made the exception to look in on this show... and that's one of the reasons for it being torture for me to watch it lol!...

...seriously though... the show needs some 'oomph' to it to make it even remotely interesting (for me at least)... someone needs to piss in a pot plant... break a fingernail... run out of lip gloss... ANYTHING to cause some drama of some sort... I'm going to cut it some slack and watch a few more episodes to see if ANYTHING of interest happens at all but I'm not holding my breath for it... Channel 9 has no clue... especially after finding out from oddjob that Alex Mavroidakis is running the show... it is surely headed for disaster with him at the helm...

...but that might be the secret ingredient that will make this show more interesting... watching it slowly die in Alex's hands... but in saying all of that... I'm so glad that you and others are finding it to be a great show my friend... you guys are obviously seeing something in it that I am not so good on you all for that!... even though I'm not really invested in the show I'm going to continue to poke fun at it... (isn't that what we're supposed to do?).... lol!... I really cannot see me going to the end of this so I'll see how long I last if nothing else lol!... cheers.

Although I did know about Alex M. So more fool me for even engaging. But I'll take it an episode at a time. I am currently considering dropping House Rules from my viewing at the moment and that is huge for me. But it's all so meh.
 
I think the secret to enjoying this crap......watching from about 2 weeks in or more

I have never seen any of the first half of the Brit versions
1st series I only saw about 2weeks, just in time for Miss UK to bang herself into oblivion.....was very funny
2nd I came in about a third down

So, it was a lot more just sociable fun, plus a bit of playing each other, plus drama and shit

Anyway, point is I did not have to put up with them slobbering at all really

...ooooooh!... you might be onto something there kxk... that way you avoid the 'teething' problems within the first 2 weeks... what a clever ploy... perhaps we all should've done the same thing with this show too?... after the initial 2 weeks the 'villains' and 'heroes' would have been exposed by then lol!... I might try that ploy myself next time... you clever lady you!... cheers.
