Live stream chit chat

Why cant they just say to the housemates, that if they mention Vinnie they instantly get a strike. I still think its dumb how they hiding it from the stream in the first place. At least that is better than zoomed/cropped camera angles, muting and static images

It's about how ill-conceived this all is. They want the discussion and reaction to Vinnie being gone. So they can't tell them to flamingo Vinnie. It is just making the live stream unwatchable. If there isn't a watchable live stream, then they don't have a 24 hour live stream.

I think by the next season they will either have the live stream worked out or they'll get rid of it all together. With how popular it's been, I doubt they'll get rid of it entirely but it definitely needs a rethink to make it work. First and foremost, they need to hire more people and pay them properly.

I keep trying to remind myself that from 10's perspective the live stream can not become the show. They need people to tune in to linear TV, and even this kind of shitty live stream is better than any AU network has bothered to put effort into providing for any reality TV show in almost 2 decades

From this Bruce Convo with Coco, is Coco still up for eviction?

Yeah true, got to have some perspective. It's like Louis CK's joke about being being upset the wifi in the plane being down.

It's still annoying.

Bruce says to Coco - I just hope you don’t go. Are they still nominated? But then Coco says she’s had the full experience of being nominated unlike Ed, Emily and Colin. And that she’s happy to be up. As current tense.

Yeah, I caught that. It sounds like she might still be, but it's not clear enough.

There’s obviously people higher up that are afraid that the live stream will pull viewers away from the daily shows so they’re trying to keep some things only for the show. They’re aware everyone that watches the stream will know straight away who has gone home but making it so they have to tune in to find out exactly what happened and the aftermath. All it’s doing is ruining the stream though which I think is what gets people really hooked on the show and invested in the housemates especially when it’s such a short season. They think they can have their cake and eat it too I guess.

Well said, I agree

The irony of Ed putting vinnie on blast for being fake and then lying saying that he knew his nomination was live to the HMS is crazy

They really need to find a way to stop the people on the rides to give the HMs outside information next year. Unless DW is loving it as it may be giving them more attendees to their park.

If the higher-ups think like that, they are probably very wrong in all levels. Like I just don't understand why every executives think like that for Big Brother, where the main draw of the show is the livestreams themselves?

If Big Brother Brasil or other versions of the shows can do it and still get decent ratings, why can't they just have a raw livestream?

This is what I wrote on Twitter: (which will become my signature footer from now on)

I agree, and imo they're shooting themselves in the foot. This stunt alone has destroyed trust in the show, the fallout is insane!

It could also be about clips of Vinnie going being evicted going on the socials. So the more casual fans see that and then won't tune it. They loosely follow along. Either way it's not focusing on pleasing the biggest and loyal viewers.

Having to end the TikTok stream and restart it due to audio issues for what seems like the fifth or sixth time in less than 12 hours is pretty fucking pathetic. How have they not sorted this shit out at the tail end of the series?
