The way I read it was that he had repeatedly told her he never said anything bad about her and then for it to completely change and be told “oh my bad I did say you’re fake” so she was hurt by that. And the whole thing just felt like Vinnie in damage control for himself and going into it like he could just explain it away because he’s doing the upfront and honest act then being like *pikachu face* when she didn’t immediately just resolve it with him. I don’t dislike either of them btw
