None of my barbers have ever done that with the comb and scissors. Never seen them with the scissors facing towards themselves while cutting towards their direction. Always facing to the left or right.

Well they do. We have two barbers that work in our salon, and they work exactly in the same way. We only had barbers join us about a year ago, and I'm still in awe
of how they work differently to hairdressers.
Thats probably why a haidressers licence is different from a barbers. A hairdresser is able to cut men's hair as such, yet not do barbers work. I never understood that but I do now.
A man wouldn't want me coming at him with an open cut throat razor to his face to shave him. Its a completely different skill.
