Leo (Canadian Ryan) Appreciation Thread

Must NOT come in this thread again. I want to give him an honest try. These pics and his brows are disturbing me. Good lord. His piece was fine yesterday, so I want to see what impression he makes. Now, to somehow shake off what I've seen in this thread. Oh, the horror.

He is so gay. My gaydar rose massively when I saw him and how he interacted.

But it seems like he isn't...

He's nowhere near as offensive as I expected. However the whole thing, especially sending super thirsty Lisa into dinner with him, just seems so desperate by the producers. It's like they even gave them matching names. Can we expect a torrid love affair followed by a fatal attraction murder?

I laughed so hard when Sonia was talking to him. "I like your American accent" "He likes Canadia"

There's something odd about his face. Like light just doesn't reflect on it like it does with other people's faces.

There a mischievous new fox in the Big Brother barnyard and he's certain to ruffle a few feathers amongst both the hens and the cocks, eh!

Born Ryan, Leo chose his nickname for a reason that can only be described as adorable. His favourite stuffed animal growing up was a tiger named Leo... and given his natural leadership and strength, it's no surprise the moniker has stuck.

30-year-old Leo hails from Canada but has called Queensland’s sparkling Gold Coast home for the past seven years. As a personal trainer and yoga master, Leo is super fit and just a little bit competitive and admits he enters the Big Brother House with his eye firmly on top prize.

Despite being three weeks behind his fellow Housemates, the ‘new kid on the block’ title is one that he’s particularly accustomed to after attending five different high schools and solo YOLOing to Australia at 23.

As one of this year’s oldest Housemates, he expects he may find a natural leadership role within the House but maintains he wants to first understand the existing dynamics before rocking the boat too much.

On relocating from Canada to Australia during his early 20s:

Leaving home and leaving everything that I knew behind me was sort of a double-edged sword. On the one hand it’s incredibly exciting and freeing to know that you’re making decisions day by day; you throw all responsibility to the wind and you really just let your spirit guide you. There definitely were some really lonely times, though, especially when I first got to Australia.

On the biggest advantage of being an Intruder:

The other 16 Housemates all went in together, so their entry and their initial experience is all rolled up together. But for me, it’s going to be a singular event. And if you know how to manage that, and maybe use it to your advantage, I think it can be an asset as opposed to a bad thing.

On whether an Intruder can win Big Brother:

I definitely think an Intruder can win Big Brother. I don’t think the fact that it hasn’t happened [in Australia] yet is an indication that it can happen. I think the secret to winning Big Brother is the person, irregardless of whether they’re an Intruder or an original House guest… It’s the type of person that’s going to win Big Brother; the circumstances are irrelevant I think.

On watching this year’s season at home:

I’ve never seen the show. I don’t own a TV, so it makes it hard for me to try and track the show down. I know you can watch it online and stuff, but I just kinda decided that I wanted to go in there fresh. I didn’t want to pass too many judgements on the people who are already in there and just give them a chance to make who they are clear to me in real life as opposed to going in with preconceived notions.

On assuming a natural leadership role:

I’ve been around the block a few times and I’ve lived a lot of life. I came to this country not knowing a single person here; I’d never been here before and I made a life for myself… So when I find myself in social situations, I do tend to take a leadership role.

On looking for love in the Big Brother House:

I’m not going into the Big Brother House looking for love, but I’m not going to turn away from any opportunity that presents itself… I’m not thinking of it from a strategic standpoint or anything like that. If something were to present itself I’d probably jump at it, but if nothing does then I won’t.

On his pet peeves:

My biggest pet peeve is people who don’t address problems or conflicts or situations head on. If you’ve got a problem with me, I’ll have a lot more respect for you if you say, ‘I don’t like the way you do this,’ or ‘I don’t like you saying this,’ or ‘I don’t like this particular thing about you,’ than for me to find out that you’ve gone around to maybe our peer group or someone else and vented that. I’m a straightshooter, and I’ll shoot you straight if you shoot straight back to me, which is really important to me.

On a moral rule he’d never break:

A moral rule I’ll never break is, ‘never judge a book by its cover’. I’ll always allow people the chance to prove their character before I’ll make a judgement based on the way they look or their sexual orientation or their race or anything… That’s a steadfast rule.

On a Canadian winning Big Brother Australia:

I definitely think a Canadian can win Big Brother Australia. I think this year the winner’s going to be an Australian, because I think of myself as an Australian first, and a Canadian second, and I think I have a good chance at it. I’m going in to win it, and I hope the country that I love and the company that’s adopted me as its own son will support me and take me all the way through to the finals.

He looks closer to 35+ at least, do steroids make you age?
he's odd.
Prepared to hate, but then he said ............Lisa's secret talent is, resting bitch face........................
to her resting bitch FACE!

This did happen, didn't it?

I wasn't hallucinating from my confused and drained poor brain being tortured was I?
I am zoning out a LOT......
I think I see/watch not a lot of content,it's so not rivetting or even watchable, I get bits out of the side of my eye, and glance around for stuff - and try to remember to watch important bits like noms

10 points for bitch face comment, but minus 10 points for saying - "irregardless"

"I'm not vain" he says. Have you ever noticed that it is only the vainest of them all who have to try so hard to convince others that they're not? It never seems to occur to the ones who are truly aren't vain to even mention it.

They spend their life worrying about their appearance because they are better than the rest of us, not because they are vain.

Maybe he's still an insecure fat kid on the inside.

.I don't quite understand why he is so keen to go on a show he doesn't watch and knows nothing about. Not exactly what you would call a committed contestant.
