jessy_girl's junk food jamboree

Coconut I like in curries etc. Not so much in sweet things. What's wrong with coconut water??? I mean... It's just (coconutty) 'water'. It's not offensive...is it?

I don't think it is offensive. It just tastes different to regular water.

And also, as the headline says, Tasty toobs, we should have paid you more attention while we could.

I wonder if it's too late to stock up?

#RIP #neverforget
I've never even heard of them..... Oh no, please don't kick me off the thread.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, I'm gonna put it out there that I don't really like salt.
Obviously it's fine as part of flavouring like in crisps, and salted caramel chocolate is pleasant but odd, but I never add extra salt or pepper to my food, and people act like I'm a weirdo. Even at Subway they'll reach for the salt and I have to stop them.

Oh My God. Help. I loooooooove salt. I'm ADDICTED.

I don't really understand it. Like, sometimes I get a meatball sub at Subway. It has a sauce and a meaty flavour, why would I want it to be salty as well? When I get a nice salad type one, why would I want a SALTY salad one? I know I'm in the minority though.[DOUBLEPOST=1444611915][/DOUBLEPOST]Cheese is great, all kinds of cheese, not salty though.

I was probably being a bit lazy with my post there - jessy girl (haha it 'corrected' to messy girl) said coconut water could eat and shit and die!! So the defence/challenge of the coconut water issue was really directed at jessy girl.[DOUBLEPOST=1444612075][/DOUBLEPOST]Not Parmesan or feta then

Parmesan or feta in small doses. Grated parmesan though, I hate the powdered stuff, it smells like vomit.[DOUBLEPOST=1444612259][/DOUBLEPOST]Twisties rule. Cats tend to love salt, mine will lick the salt off a twistie then leave it.

I'm with you on the salt - I only cook with it if its in a recipe ... I put it on table if we have guests because I know people like it ... but what I hate is when people put in on food without having first tried the food for flavour. How do you know something doesn't already have enough salt in it? I don't add it to anything

having said that - I like salted peanuts and chips ... and its the salt I think that makes me want more of them ...

I'm not a huge fan of salt. I love pepper, but salt I will only use whilst cooking and rarely add afterwards. I love salty things like feta and olives and of course chips, but not actual salt. Cheese is so good though.[DOUBLEPOST=1444613757][/DOUBLEPOST]

 And now you'll never get to try them!

Oh yes and coconut water is far from water. It has such an unpleasant taste to it, which is strange considering I like coconut in general. I've actually heard people say that it's a bit... um... semeny tasting.

Oh good, I thought I'd be in-salted (sorry) for not liking extreme saltiness, glad I'm not the only one.
