Is Jade the New Favourtie to Win?

Hate all you want but Jade has her devoted fans like me.

Devoted? More like obsessed from what Ive seen and thats after only 1 day on the site. I fear for Eds personal security when he gets out of the house as Jade's "devoted" fans twitter death threats when he hooks up with someone else. Obviously Tahan will be a target as well.


In the US there is a site called Jokers updates on which bloated cat ladies swoon and obsess about housemates in showmances and viciously attack anyone who is uncomplimentary in even a minor fashion about the objects of their affection. When the show ends they try to get involved by contacting the houseguests and if things have gone wrong threaten their jobs, families and friends.

The more I see on this site the more it seems like the most aggressive Jade fans are exactly like that. Jade is Snow White, Ed is Prince Charming and Tahan is the devil incarnate..there is no middle ground.

Grab a sense of perspective. Tahan is no angel but neither is Jade and in fact she may be worse as she is setting a terrible role model for women in shredding her self respect with her pathetic desperate attempt to snare a good looking and potentially rich guy who obviously has no interest in her.

You are the most pressed Tahan fan of all. Can you stop with the comparisons to Layla because:

1. Jade's feelings for Ed are obviously genuine; and
2. Jades other 'love story' with Drew WAS A TASK set by big brother!

She's not really. She's in love with the idea of being in love with someone like Ed. Come on, let's be honest here, she doesn't know Ed from a bar of soap how can she possibly be in love with him?

Once that bubble bursts and reality sets in she won't give him a second thought. Girl's like this are dangerous, especially when a guy marries one and is then taken to cleaners through the courts who have a strong favourable bias towards women. *shudders*

And this is why Ed wants nothing serious with her.

I would never throw death threats towards Tahan or Ed, but that doesn't mean i can't dislike them or wish they were evicted... I didn't like Tully either but it was exciting to be at her eviction show and I've enjoyed reading her tweets since she got out.
I may dislike people on the show but in reality I'd be stoked to meet any of them!

I agree with you that Jade is in love with the idea of someone like Ed. But I think the reason Ed wants nothing serious with has more to do with how he wants his image perceived on the outside - there are numerous indications about Ed not being "himself" because of this including the one on the live feed updates with Drew & Tim today (yesterday in Australia?)

I think this as well. I do agree that there's more than 1 reason Ed has for not getting into a relationship with Jade but I'm adamant he being wary of someone like Jade who doesn't seem that emotionally stable was the primary reason for not doing so.

No the Ed thing has gained her support, with the sad 'love story'. If she loses that she would have to hang onto another man in the house, she may be desperate enough in the game to do that (just like the similarly empty Layla last year).

I don't think so. I liked Jade in the first couple of weeks before she started obsessing over Ed. She's not the most interesting HM but she's likable and relatable enough that she could build up a big fanbase. But I can't stand watching JadEd. I just pity her and it's hard to watch. It's also very boring; have you ever seen them have an intelligent conversation? It's all mumbling to me. I'm sure I would like her if Ed wasn't there (and Mikkayla too because she influences Jade's personality too much), and I don't think I'm the only one.

I also think Mikkayla and Ed are badly influencing her popularity on the outside. I think there are a lot of fans who liked her from the beginning, as she was one of the nicest ones in there, but also seemed fun. I think she's getting a bit stressed lately or upset, one of the two. Likely because of the endless cycle of gossip & bitching. I think she's realised she may have gotten caught up in it, which isn't what she wanted I'm sure, and it's making her upset. I think the absence of Mikkayla and Ed would cause a stronger bond with Tahan, so long as Tahan is willing.

I see it happening, though. And hopefully Ed is out this week (and possibly Mikkayla next week, if Nathan has walked already).

I agree that Tahan has a bigger personality, but that doesn't mean that Jade isn't being herself. I think that's just her.

I think she's been unbelievably self-conscious for the majority of the show.. Every group scene we see, she has been awkwardly standing/sitting around, looking uncomfortable or concerned, waiting to see what everyone else is doing/how they're reacting. Apart from the private moments where she repeatedly launched herself on Ed, I think she has either been uncomfortable in the group or very self-conscious and aware she is being filmed... I think you're right though, she is who she is and that to me, is BORING! We've seen her bitchy side coming out in the last few days but again, I think that's as a result of her almost non-existent self-esteem. If seh makes it to the end for being "sweet and nice", I will have to stop watching. I could watch paint dry instead.

Yeah she tends to hold back in the group situations. In regards to her self esteem as well, I heard her say once that she feels 'stupid' (I'm thinking she meant awkward) most of the time, so she tries to avoid doing things which might make her look even more 'stupid'. For that reason, I believe she holds back for the most part in certain situations (like the other day when they did the 'best worse dance' she didn't really get into it as much).

She's not very outgoing except when she drank more than usual during LNF and sexy danced around the palm tree haha. I think I like her because I can relate to her unwillingness to make herself look 'stupid'.

Anyway, I think she's got a chance of making it to the top 4 (If she hasn't walked, that is!).

She is. Where is the fun girl from the first few weeks? All she does is obsess over Ed, and that's even more boring than Ed himself (lol I like the guy but yeah he hasn't done much).

I know, and I can tell that you personally put through well rounded opinions since you also watch live feeds but some people from day 1 have not liked Jade, twist facts and call her names that she's not. E.g. people that watch live feeds know that she has dyslexia, know that she grew up having to financially support her family working several jobs and had trouble in school because of that. Yet people claim she's a gold-digger and stupid for which they have no basis. + if she has a 'bad moment', boy does she get it then. I prefer when people are open minded to all housemates. Like for example, I started out not liking some housemates but I did not target their fans and call them names for liking them. And I kept an open mind and my fave HM's have changed.

Beige and boring? What do you expect her to do? Start fighting with other people? Start ratting people out to each other? Start playing pranks like Tim? If she did that, it would be totally out if character and just tryhard. My personal opinion is she is intresting because she doesn't do those things. Jade is not an attention seeker, it is a reflection of someone real because in real life you wouldn't start on complete strangers just because there's not much to do. For once I'd like someone just like your average Joe to win, drama is not a part of life which should be rewarded. At least I hope not. BB is not a zoo.
