Completely agree with you.

I'm not saying I agree with the logic, rather just saying it's another theory to throw in the mix that could explain why he reacted so over the top about it ... i.e. he might have been trying to protect his image versus actually being bothered or upset.

Ironically tho he has been very pro gay in his conversations and showed support to Ben about how being teased or bullied at school must have been horrible blah blah blah ... so theoretically he should have been OK with a fun peck. Actions speak louder than words

Similar when he had to decide between putting Jade or Tim up for eviction ... come crunch time ... he crumbles!!!

I thought his weird reaction to kissing Ben was actually a typical reaction that a lot of men could have if they feel they are in an environment where being gay, or doing something seen as gay, could get them hassles.

And that could apply whether a person is straight or gay themselves I.e. It's the fear of how others will react to it versus and any ridicule you might face whether you actually have your own fears or cares ,..... So the overreaction could be so he can later make it obvious to anyone who might rib him for it that 'look how much I he hated it'

Yeah he's not gay.
He's just a typical jock - this explains the physique thing, the segregation of boys and girls (traditional views of women and men having group time etc), he is attracted to Jade but doesn't want to be with her....so his uselessness is him trying not to come off as a jerk...which he fails at, his pronunciation of girls is because of his south Australian heritage.

The only one that does raise eyebrows was his reaction to the Ben peck as we have seen the other boys kiss and are ok with it, why? Because they're relaxed with their sexuality.
I personally don't think that means he's gay I think that means Jade would be massively let down by him in the sack as he's probably 5 minutes of missionary.
 
Straight men are entitle to react however they want to physical contact. I don't remember girls (hot ones) in particular welcoming any unwanted physical touch from guys she doesn't find attractive. She'd probably call the cops on you or take you to court for sexual harrasment. Therefore attitude that any hetero man should not be repulsed by any unwelcome sexual contact is quite frankly a lot of loony left wing idiocy.

In general, you're right. But, I'm kind of with Tahan on this one - don't sign up to participate in something (even if it was a drunk-induced immature game) if you're not willing to play (it wasn't like Ben was hitting on him-it was just supposed to be all in good fun).
 
i don't think Ed is gay but I did find his reaction to the peck with Ben interesting. It just screams someone who is not comfortable with their sexuality and how they are perceived. Girls do it all the time with their friends and I've done it with a couple of my straight friends for jokes. Its only "gay" and more than a kiss if you make it so. If he had just pecked him and giggled a little bit I would've thought good on him for playing along and having a good time. But instead he gave the quickest peck and then bolted like he'd just kissed a turd. By making a big deal of it, it then does become one. It says more about society than Ed's sexuality. People need to relax and stop giving a fuck about labels and just enjoy life. It might not have been Ed's thing, I completely understand. But he didn't HAVE to do the typical bro/straight boy thing and act like kissing a boy was SOOO against what he wanted to do.

Yeah ..... it's a game where you may have to kiss someone ... anyone ... even someone you don't like or someone of a sex you are not interested in ... so don't go in to play if you can't do it ... or worse if you can't do it without making the other person feel like a leper.

Yup ... I think he was concerned about how it would be perceived (image thing) versus actually finding it that bad .... it was just too OTT a reaction

Interesting you say, because as a gay guy I also would've reacted like Ed if I were to kiss someone like Ben (whom I don't find attractive).

Now IF Ed is gay, maybe Ben wouldn't be the type of guy he'd go for OR he is just very unattractive for him. I mean, I really wouldn't like pecking Ben, as much as I think how sweet he is (I'd see him as a brother figure really).

Hell, I'd be turned on a little if I were kissing Jade (or a pretty girl) over a guy I don't find attractive (Drew, Ben, Tim - NOT attractive at all FOR ME).

Yes, but the thing is, girls kiss other attractive girls and mostly for the guy's attention. You don't see an attractive girl kissing a geeky plain Jane.

What- Jade's attractive so what she's doing is okay? She probably freaks him out with her full on approach.
 
When Ben spoke about that night to Mum and Nan he said ED kissed him on the NOSE. Did Ben have a wet nose????

Muscular bodies can be attractive if they're on a good looking guy. But they're not the deal-breaker or anything. Tim and Drew have nice bodies but I'm not attracted to their faces.

Btw, Ed's brother has a nicer body than him - more thin and toned, and less beefy and over the top.
