I don't apologise for 'ignoring' these posters... There are so many threads in this forum where they can show off how amazing they were in '07... Why in here FFS?! The reference to derspratz... Spoke volumes.

Seriously, @Tim....are you able to shed some light on the @camerashy1 going private thing.
 
meanwhile.... this thread and all the speculation has been far more entertaining than the real BB so far!! speaking of which.. us oldies did lose a bbba member just over a year ago.. he suddenly disappeared, and it was thru facebook that we realised he died. RIP @specky (his first username was Speculator)

@LoveBB - jeez, ease up. I wasn't trying to show how "amazing" I was - I was trying to show that I UNDERSTAND forum friendships - that Camerashy1's disappearance is quite unsettling and right now her disappearance could mean shes in the house (as opposed to the other thing it could mean... something bad has happened) I was on YOUR side, and trying to shut derspatz up!!! And as I was writing my post, it did strike my curiosity that no one knew her real name. that's all. jeesh. lighten up buttercup.

I can never forget about myspace, it's where my hubby first tried to interact with me because apparently I paid no attention to him when we were face to face. Geez they feel so long ago now haha.

somename has mentioned it should be easy to track their ip, i know its proabably an invasion of privacy, but i don't care at this point

Yes it is and has been entertaining :) That is really sad about Spec - I do remember some posts by him. Shows why some of us are trying to see the positive, in what could be something unfortunate.
I had a few private conversations with CS, but it was mainly about where I am in my life atm. She/He was very supportive. See I don't even really know the gender - but does that really matter?
Yeah, that ders ...... I am not really sure of 'its' gender anymore, seeing 'it' sowed so many seeds of doubt around - anyway, I do wonder how many posters would be looking for 'it' if 'it' disappeared of these forums!!!

ALL clear communication should include punctuation and no abbreviations, if that is to be way it is ..... just saying

No, I was simply offering up dramaqueen as proof of how far and involved a forum character / persona / sock puppet can be in being somebody they are not. Heck, they can even end up as a forum mod and get blog awards !

That a forum member going by the name of camerashy has posted thousands of time and been consistently involved in particular threads and even PM conversations is no proof of them really being anything like how these choose to portray themselves in here.

The sock puppet and prolific blogger and ex-BBBAU moderator known as dramaqueen was not who they chose to be and that person was far more involved in the internuts than the currently "gone private" camerashy.

Anyhoo, do any of you have any real proof at the moment that camerashy and, say, winterbourne are not the same person ?

Do any of you have any real proof that camerashy is even female ?!

Do any of you have anything other than an unhealthy dose of confirmation bias coupled with wishful thinking, for that matter ?

It's a typical throwaway ribbing/teasing comment made towards 'noobs' found in many a forum, it's human nature to say things were 'better' back in the day, don't read too much into it. lol :)

I'll admit that I've been guilty of that myself but there's nothing sinister meant by it as it's not like hanging around a board for years it's something to be 'boastful' about hence the 'teasing'/joke aspect of it. :p Anybody that takes offense to it well... :whistling:

To the current crop posters credit there are a lot less trolls than there were back a decade ago, BBB was the Wild Wild West compared to today, infested with 'troll's due to it being a helluva lot more popular probably because it din't have other significant competition ( SM, FB, twits, etc... were in its infancy stage)

I would however go one step further, it doesn't strike my curiosity - I find it bonkers!

How can someone think they have a super special friendship with someone and yet not even know what their fucking name is?!

I mean seriously, have you been online so long you have forgotten how to function?

Each forum friendship I make is real, real names, real voices on the phone and when catching up, real facebook accounts, real lives.

This fixation on keeping your personal identities so secret squirrel while stalking friends and family members of housemates, only to throw everything you can find out about their real lives into the internet, is like the ultimate contradiction to me. Some posters in here won't even share their name, however if they find the ex girlfriends neighbour of a housemate - we have their fb, twitter and instagram account details for the forum and internet to see.

My name is Tracey and my nickname is Trala. If you are friends with me you know my life, have seen my son, have seen my partner, have shared in my life. That is what friendship is. Not the smoke and mirrors that comes with an internet persona.

And Uncle Bernie (Derspatz) is probably one of the most open and honest posters in here when it comes to persona vs personality. While there is no doubt he can be a cunt, at least we can be sure it is his personality, not an invented persona.

Nice to meet you Katie. Once you get past your initial dislike for me, I grow on you like herpes. While I remain irritating, you learn to live with me.

Don't worry though, I am not a stalker. You just happened to post on a fb page where you identified yourself, that toiletduck linked me to.
