How to win BB based on BB format (original versus current)

An observation ...

Old BB format
Laze around, do nothing, don't interact a lot, don't involve yourself in house activities, be boring. You may get labelled as "flying under the radar". Usually you get nominated quite early by your housemates and voted out (by the public). Interesting types and sporty types tend to stay in the house longer, and usually one of them wins. Strategy to win BB is therefore be interesting, be fun to be around and do not fly under the radar.

Current BB format
Laze around, do nothing, don't interact a lot, don't involve yourself in house activities, be boring. Nobody notices you and you are not seen as "a threat". You may get labelled as "a safe vote". Usually you will not get nominated and not voted out (by your housemates). Interesting types and sporty types tend to be seen as threats or "challenge beasts". These types tend to be up for eviction a lot and risk going home. Strategy to win BB is therefore to do the exact opposite of what you would do in the old BB format. You should, on purpose, not try hard to win challenges (even if you are a sporty type) so that you do not have to nominate and, as a consequence, do not end up with a target on your back. You should be boring, stay under the radar, be a floater. This will get you far in the game. You can then make your moves near the end, once all the "challenge beast threats" are gone.

Now, whether those observations are right or not, it seems to me that even though in both formats a mix of people are put in to the house, with different personality types etc, the ability to win BB tends to hang on the format. Early BB formats did not rely on sporting prowess for nominations and votes; it was all about your personality type and house interactions ... whereas the current format does hinge on sporting prowess and not so much on personality type and interactions. In other words, you can avoid getting a target on your back in the current format merely by being boring and not trying hard ... something that would not have worked in the original format. Going in to the current format game with a plan to "play the game", talking tactics and taking action on strategies, merely results in your housemates wanting you out and voting you out.

Being blessed with good genes and working on your six pack prior to entering the house, plus having a clear aversion to shirts, generally helps too.

LOL. Yes, very true. The same could be said about the looks and appearance of some of the girls, and the clothes they wear (or don't wear). :)
