Housemate Diaries.

For sure. I agree with this. But again, I can see how people would take it the other way, just as every situation in the house is turned inside out and seen from every angle and we can all yell until we are blue in the face and we still won't all agree on things. That's the beauty of this forums. Again, I am sorry if you took any offence to the puppet thing, it was not my intention and I certainly wasn't try to call you one :)

No worries. This just gets me a bit fired up cos Ed's view of and Tim and his obsession with him just doesn't make sense to me. I wish BB could ask him exactly why he thinks Tim is an emotional bully. I know he'd just mumble his way through his explanation with nothing convincing to say. This annoys me even more than him making a fool of Jade.

I think Ed has just never encountered someone who doesn't care what others think of him, as it seems its being breed into that him should always be aware of how you come across. Don't know if that's at all to do with the football side of things, given that any bit of bad press could cost you a place in the team these days. I said awhile ago that I think Ed and co (Matt, Caleb, Heidi and such) thought they would outlast Tim because he was the one causing trouble and in past seasons (the channel 10 ones) if you were the nice guy and kept the peace you would cruise through to the end.

Hence why Ed hasn't stood up to Tim face to face, he is now trying to use flattery to get Tim on side but that seems to be useless this late in the game. If he had maned up and called him out while his 'crew' were still in the house I think people might have a had a bit more respect for him. I do like Ed, I think he seems like a nice guy but a person that has clearly had an easy life in regards to being in the middle - not quite a mean jock but not an outcast either - and he went in thinking that would be enough. But Tim has changed the game this year and with it being vote to save its a different level of gameplay.

Ed was clearly hoping that be writing good things about everyone but Tim, it might sway the votes against Tim. Will it work? I don't know, depends on who would read that and be a voter. If it had been an article on the facebook site it might have done more 'damage' but being as its a newspaper, I doubt it will do anything in Ed's or Tim's votes.

Nice one Elspie...I think you are right on many fronts.
Ed has I believe been brought up in a very 'socially ambitious' family environment if you get my drift (perhaps accentuated by his failure in the AFL against his brothers success) hence why I think poor Jade has no chance with him. I also believe that Ed is well aware of the fact that he isn't quite as nimble and sharp mentally as some. These 2 things, his social ambition and his acceptance of his abilities (remember the "I can't beat Tim" moment?) leave us with a calculating person yet one who isn't willing to back himself to jump into the fray. In the house he sugar coats everything, Ed the nice guy, Ed the fence sitter....yet in the safety of the Diary Room or in his addresses to the public (vote to save me) he suddenly becomes quite bold and venomous !

You are also absolutely correct about another thing, Eds best chance to take on Tim was when he had his 'boys' there....Ed, unlike Tim, thrives and flourishes only when he has the support of a pack. Tim can flourish solo.

Assuming he stays, I suspect Ed will continue to work overtime to try win over Nathan in his crusade against Tim.
