Housemate #5 TULLY!

I have said before that I do not plan to comment on what Tully's girlfriend may, or may not, have have done. I've actually attempted to avoid having to by compositing a scenario which, I believe, encapsulates the debate.

However, I feel no reluctance on commenting on your attitudes or that of the 'moral majority' that you claim to represent. If it is true that Tully's behavior would "would be a deal breaker in many relationships" then when and how did this paradigm come about? Why is it that these relationships are built on the ethics of the right wing religious wing nuts? Why is it that these many relationships are creepy, dysfunctional and fragile? Why is it that you and this majority is so opposed to good, clean healthy sex - so much so that you claim that is a reason to terminate a relationship?
I don't know, I don't make the rules. I'm not the best person to ask about this, but as far as I know, for many people, sex can lead to romantic feelings and most people want their partner to have romantic feelings only for them. I think for most people, emotional cheating is much worse than physical cheating - that's what I've gathered from all the moral outrage on this forum.

Its you who are not getting it! When Tully gets out and finds out how Tahlia has cheating on her she is still prepared to take her back. Despite this Tahlia has insisted on continuing to humiliate Tully. Tully has been so good about this.

What are you talking about? Tully got out weeks ago and how has Tahlia been cheating on her if they were already broken up? But I agree with you about the last part. Tahlia's recent tweets were totally unnecessary. She said she was going to move on, so she should let Tully move on too.

I am talking about when Tully was in the house.

Well I assume that you make the rules regarding you own personal values.

Reading you post I'm reminded of the old joke that Amish discourage sex because it may lead to dancing.

Again you are confused by you view of relationships as an aspect of property values - Tort Law as it is Applied to Relationships. This leads you to make zero sum calculations. As a result you believe that the amount of love that any one person may feel is finite.

Love is a positive human value which should not be limited or doled out in portions. It also has the advantage of being pleasurable.

If Elsa loves Maria then that is one portion of love that Elsa feels. If Elsa also loves Rui then she doubles the love that she feels. And the sum total of love in the world has increased.

Tahlia broke up with her, so technically it wasn't cheating.

I was talking about before that.

I think what has happened is that Tahlia took the opportunity to dump Tully at the earliest point that she could. Imaging how humiliating it must be for Tully to find out that shes been dumped on a national TV program!

What a horrible thing for Tahlia to do

While Tully was going through an extremly stressful experience , isolated from her friends and family and her girlfriend she loves very much , Tahlia dumps her. It was horrible. Tahan kissed girls in the house and her boyfriend did not dump her on tv or via twitter.

What a beeya, that Tahlia.

I do understand your point but I think it's human nature to not want your partner to be sleeping around. Obviously there are places in the world where men have more than one wife, but I don't know how happy the wives are about their situation. I once saw a doco about polygamy and there were a few people who admitted to being jealous of their partners' other partners. And these would be people with similar values to yourself, because otherwise they wouldn't have gotten into a polygamous relationship. So what I'm saying is I don't think just having one partner is necessarily an outdated part of our culture; I think it's just the way we are as humans.

This is true, dumping Tully publicly was a bad move. Not only did she publicise their relationship (and draw "unwanted" attention to herself), but she also didn't even wait to talk to Tully before dumping her. I don't blame her entirely though, because she was angry and they were probably going to break up soon anyway.

I'm someone who believes emotional cheating is worse regardless if its physical or not

Just because as ive posted before there are many different reasons people cheat and in some cases the relationship can be saved

When kids, jobs, money concerns etc can get in the way relationships can get dull and sometimes when youre not getting attention from your partner and someone comes along who gives you whats lacking its easy to fall into something you had no intention of starting, its new its exciting but its not love. In those cases I believe as long as your heart is still with your partner then with a lot of hard work the relationship can be saved and often ends up stronger.

But when someone finds that they're actually falling for someone else especially when there isn't sex involved, theres really no point trying to save the original relationship.... let them go find someone who can love them and only them

Nobody is going to make a documentary about us - we are the boring majority. I suspect that you saw a documentary about the Mormons or similar - a group which is even creepier and more dysfunctional than you are. And their concept of sexual relations is most certainly all about property rights.

The biological imperative for humans, and especially women, is to have as many partners as possible. The culture to which you refer is simply a historical artifact. It came into being during a time of continuous war and was created in support of that state. For any rational civilization it is dysfunctional.

Unfortunately Talhia has played Tully for a fool. Talhia has got everything she could out of the relationship and has cast Tully aside despite her efforts to keep the relationship going. It really is very bad.

Looks like Tully is getting her own back by holding a no pants girls night in party.

Tully is really milking it on Twitter... Not a great look IMO. Oh look, I innocently tweeted I want a spa/new dress/whatever and wow wee look at that brand X has tweeted they might be able to work something out for me. Who would have thought?! They are sooooooo nice xxxx!

Why not. After the disgraceful way that Tahlia treated her she deserves something.

Mikkayla tweeted that she really felt like a Coke.
A Coca Cola representative contacted her and offered her a lifetime supply... Of Pepsi.

I wish I could remember what it was called but I can't so you'll just have to take my word for it - I don't think it was about Mormons; it was just a small community of polyamorous people who have more than one partner. I don't know why you think you're the majority... I don't know anyone in a polygamous relationship and I can't think of any polygamous relationships that are present in popular media, so this suggests that they're not as common as you think. Just to be clear, I'm not opposing polygamy - there's nothing wrong with it if that's what people want. I'm just trying to explain to you that most people just want an exclusive monogamous relationship. If you think they don't then please tell me why there aren't more people in open relationships (I mean real relationships, not just 'friends with benefits') and why it's so common to hear of people getting upset and dumping their partner after being cheated on (don't ask me again what I mean by 'cheating').

Tully tweeted this ( weird it wasn't mentioned yet ):

Gotta love being chased up the escalator for a photo, only to overhear them saying how much they hated you on the show as they walk away.
