Housemate #3 - Sharon (Mother)

Sharon will be one of the first to be evicted I think. Crying about missing her kids. Seems an alright person but so far not suitable for BB
Shame they didnt pick an older bloke for a change.

Shame so many years of BB and in all that time they have only picked one older bloke That I can remember. With the amount of people that try out every year you would think that someone in that age bracket would be suitable.
 
Sharon is the one I'm hoping is the first evictee, shes brings nothing to the house and is just plain boring.
 
I like Sharon. She seems nice. I like that she has taken Ben under her wing. He needed someone like her in the house. They make good friends! :)
 
So, what was the point of Sharon, exactly? Was she really just there to bring the average age up and claim diversity? (Although the median and mode were unchanged which is more telling). I guess it would be easier to gauge with live fee, but she seemed to not contribute to the dynamics of the house or anything.

I wonder why her video was among the 4 shown prior to launch? Did the producers have higher hopes for her, maybe?
 
OK I have to concede I was wrong. While it's not like someone over 40 necessarily has to take on a 'mother' role, unfortunately in the case of Sharon it was not necessarily because of her age, but because she was boring and conservative enough to fall into that role. I get the impression from the Newscorp article today that she felt she was so mature and they were immature, thus alienating herself. Part of the fun of being on BB is letting go and just having fun and not taking youself so seriously, because it's not real life. I'm sure there would have been plenty of over 40s who could have had a blast in there. Pity they chose her.

Sharon: thank you so much for perpetuating the stereotype that 'old people are boring'.
 
Interesting that Sharon said that she originally wanted Ben to win but now wants Tim to win. Last year the first evictee predicted the correct winner of BB (Charne said she wanted Ben to win and he did). Will Sharon follow suit and also be correct? Only time will tell!
 
I honestly have no idea why she was chosen. Like, it baffles me.
Especially since she said she "couldn't be bothered" getting to know the other HMs. Why the heck did she even audition then?!
I really don't think she deserved to go in, what a waste. I'm sure there would have been much better candidates to represent the middle-aged Australian population - people who would actually embrace the experience.

She was an absolute bust. No personality except for some whinging and bitching in low tones. Ed tried to do her a favour by bringing her into the pres suite (he's no dummy - he probably reckoned she was a goner and tried to include her in something). If she missed her kids fair play but why waste a spot in the house to begin with? Really poor and selfish decision on her part and the producers.

Cue the 'what was it like for a mother in the house?' articles but aren't the facts already known?
 
Didn't an old woman win the last BB on Ten. That was contrived and set up to show diversity too. She was kicked out of the house week two and bought back because BB had wanted her to win it. I don't think Sharon will be bought back but it isn't new having older ones in Sharon was sadly rarely seen and way too dull to last long

That season was a joke - I so wanted Ben to win that season! He was awesome! (he came 3rd)
 
I remember that Ben was winning in the polls and Kyle & Jackie kept showing the polls again and agin each time saying it was the last time until Terri was in front. Jackie even said she hoped Terri won. Channel 10 had her planned as the winner from the start. Ben was the true winner in my eyes.
 
It seems that this year, other than the Today Show and Mornings, housemates appear on the NRL Footy Show in the "Crack-A-Fatty" segment.
