I think the show just sucks you in and people really root for the housemates they love. Plus it can be frustrating hearing negative things a lot. It's all good.

Jade fans long for the 50s (like Jade) when women "knew their place" in the kitchen begging for the slightest bit of affection from the man they were made to marry.

Well after the last election, that's apparently what Australia thinks.

I guess you are referring to Tony Abbot... interesting why you would think that when ALL his daughters are successful & strong in their own right, same with his wife. Abbot is allowed to have his own opinions on certain subjects, doesn't mean he wants australia to be transform back to the 1950's.

Guys a tool bag. We're going to solve the asylum seekers issue, by re-branding what we call them and then having a policy to not report to the public what's happening. Of course that's their view on everything. Don't tell anyone. Silence. Like in the election campaign, not releasing vital information until the last minute and after the advertising black out.

Like with climate change and science. Doesn't like what the science says. Is anti-science. So scraps the body set up to inform the public on the issues. Doesn't want people getting access to information. Even scraps the science minister position. So now he just sits there with a smug look on his face saying completely incorrect statements on science. After scrapping the body which can inform people on the reality.

He is also all for changing the racial discrimination laws to make it easier for people in the media to abuse minority groups. As that's the bread and butter of conservative media. Now there's a problem to be fixed. It's too hard for the media to promote racism and bigotry.


Woman, oh well there's lots of qualified woman for cabinet positions, however as with back in my uni days. It's a boys club and a man's world, so no room for them.

Jumping up and down on the anti-gay marriage band wagon.

Oh we're going to limit the ability of people to protest and to have boycotts because that's a good and fair thing to have in a free democracy.


He'll probably soon try and make it harder for people to report on the corruption and expenses rorts him and his buddies have been getting away with.

What? It's fine to not like Jade, but where does this even come from? I'm pretty sure most if not ALL Jade fans hate the Ed stuff and find it cringeworthy. Numerous people went off Jade because of how she is with men, but then just found it hard to dislike her because she still has good qualities. I imagine the only women who WANT the world to be like the 50s where women "knew their place" would be crazy religous women who live way out in the middle of nowhere, don't have a good education, and think they see Jesus in their toast.

Where it comes from Autumn is from the Jade club that just bash anyone for questioning something.

You clearly are a LABOR voter and no matter what Abbot all the liberals offered, you would say something negative.

So you believe Abbot wants ALL australian women to act like they are from 1950's.. accept of course his own daughters, who are anything but that. Remember he & his wife raised his daughters, into strong minded and polite women. I'm not sure where abbot is against women. He is still entitled as an australian to have his own beliefs.

No I just believe on many issues, he has an outdated or ideologically driven mindset. How and if they translate into policies is still being seen, but it's not looking good. His blatant anti-science efforts since being in office tend to suggest he isn't going to be subtle about any of the non sense he believes. The lack of woman in cabinet was another manifestation of a long documented history of a bad attitude towards woman.

There's a whole bunch of well known ideas about Abbott and his attitude. Since being in office, he's kind of been doing things to confirm what many people were worried about.


I definitely am not a labor supporter. This last election was a shit choice, but Abbot was the worst of the choices. In the previous election though, I gave liberals a higher house preference than Labor because I couldn't stand Gillard. If Labor had kept her I would have given the libs a higher preference than labor again.

I don't think there's much of a difference between the major parties. Voting for minor parties we like is the only real influence we can attempt to have. If Abbott just shut up and ran the country, it'd be fine. But going out of the way to make a stand against gay marriage. Their ridiculous NBN replacement, where they will do long term economic damage to Australia. The sheer contempt for science and education.

I don't know of any positives to him being in office. Just negatives compared to the shit head Rudd became.

That's the problem, from day one all these fears about what he thinks and believes have been manifesting in how he runs the country. I think he's waited so long to get into power he's not going to waste time. Not going to ease in, not going to try and control himself.

Stuff like this is such a nice reminder that we now have plain common sense replacing the insanity. Nothing has changed in their resolve or actions at all on people smuggling apart from the running commentary and media releases causing a circus every time a boat is sighted (as if that's "vital" information?!), hooray for common sense. No more pouring money down the drain paying Tim Flannery and co to run a redundant PR machine and duplicate the work of other departments. No more insane bandaids that make saying things that hurt peoples feelings illegal as if that solves any problems and doesn't create more.

Pity you didn't put the quotes from him last because they would have been the icing on the cake, both show desperation because the first one is factual and he said it when he was 21 years old anyway so it's kind of scraping the barrel to drag it out, and the second one is a perfect example of something innocuous he said that people fell over themselves to act outraged about.

Yep and I really teared up watching Tahan's reaction in her frozen state. She was sobbing, my heart just broke for her. The housemates felt for her as well by their reaction after the freeze.

Seems like Tim is offending everyone yesterday and today. Could be just that hes nominated.

Tahan is definitely closer with Boog than Tim and its great that she has a friend she can trust!
I just think she and Tim arent that close because they cant trust each other.

that really is an awful thing to say. They clearly luv their father and he them. I assume his daughters were raised in a great home, with good parents that taught their daughters to do what they want in life and they are.
