Housemate #1 - Matt (Soldier)

I quite like Matt at this point. I'd say he's my favourite guy in the house now. Him and Tahan's friendship is adorable and very much a sister-brother one but also in a I'd-do-you-in-a-heartbeat-if-I-was-single way. Strange, but cute.

I also like that Matt sees right through Tully and most of the housemates. He can still point out their positives (like with Mikk's cooking), which is also a good trait. He seems like an all around good guy, and I've got lots of respect to him for having so much integrity and loyalty to his girlfriend. I feel like him and Tahan must relate in that way as they're both taken and have to deal with being some of the actually loyal ones in the house.

Matt is so much more likeable without Caleb.

Definitely lends credence to the statement that Caleb was the brains of that bromance and was leading Matt around by the nose.

I know. I just said Caleb and brains in the same sentence.

Can't believe I'm saying this but yes, he has come across better in the last week or so....almost likeable at times.
Definitely true that he can see right through Tully and Drew and isn't backward in voicing his disapproval of their slimey little "romance" or whatever the hell it is, and questioning them on their motives.

I have always liked Matt, he was my favorite from day one. I enjoy the friendship he has with Tahan too.

I really like Matt as well but not because of his friendship with Tahan per say, just because of the person he is.

Same here. From the first moment he entered the house he has been my favorite, for the person he is. I saw so many qualities in him, qualities that I admire. He didn't do anything yet to change my mind. I hope he goes far

The only thing that's made me question him a few days ago was that bitch session about Mikkayla behind her back. I know it's different when you're in the house and I'll forgive him for it but it did make my opinion of him lower in my daily housemate rankings. I think those daily housemate rankings should be weekly housemate rankings.

You have to expect bitching, when you are in the house with people who probably wouldn't be friends with outside.

Bitching doesn't mean you dislike them though. Sometimes it feel good to just express what you feel, even if they know about it, and you have to say sorry but you really annoyed me that day. (experience talking :) )

LOL! I know you like bitching ;) I read in another thread where you wrote that. But yes, I do agree with you - being in that house, all emotions are heightened. And as I have said, I would happily be friends with any of them on the outside. They are a great bunch this year.

Oh I wouldn't want to be friends with Tully. I'm scared enough that I'm in the same state as her at the moment haha

I could be friend with Tully. She makes bad decision, she has tantrums, but it is not all she is. I like her personality faults and qualities, I have friends just like her.

I honestly think that Tully would be different on the outside - I think all of them would be different on the outside quite frankly.

matt's dismissive and disrespectful of women, talks behind people's backs and is completely up himself. i liked him early, but the more I learned the more I wanted him to just disappear.

fortunately for him, his invisible edit the last week or two is giving people time to forget his more unpalatable qualities.

Yes, exactly. I'm sure Tully would be a good person on the outside but unfortunately she's doing horribly on BB.

Anyway, Matt isn't my favourite but he's doing a bit better without Caleb there.

LOVE this guy's moral code..and man, is he dishing it out to Tully today! This is what I have wanted from Matthew all along, for him to start speaking up about the behaviour he is seeing, start calling people out on it. I went off him because he seemed happier to just sit back and bitch but I think he's getting stronger now. I hope he gives 'em hell tonight at the family dinner.

Okay, so I am having my first positive feelings towards Matt, and it has been confusing me. When he spoke to Tully today I thought his assessment was spot on, and he was by far the most sincere looking when comforting Jade. I had been viewing him as an entiled boofhead or a bitchy bitch.

Why the change?

Maybe it is because Heidi has left. Tim can talk to him and draw him out a bit, as he did from the spa, and without a poison screech in his ear or Caleb to snuggle he is coming out. Today I thought he was a gentleman. Obviously, he has a gossipy, moralistic side, which is the negative of a side that seems to be coming out away fom Heidi's influence.

Anyway, that is my theory for the change.

Although I still don't think I'd ever vote to save matt, I'm certainly seeing him in a different positive light lately. I believe its cause Heidi has left. STILL cannot for the life of me wrap my head around this house consensus she was some amazing, genuine, nice girl.... Could be editing by the producers, but all I saw was some loud mouthed gossiper who talked down people she deemed lesser.

Same here.
Whilst I'm still not a fan, have to admit he's coming across surprisingly well at the moment. Yes, perhaps it's because he's away from the influence of heinous Heidi , maybe he's modified his behaviour to appeal to viewers more or maybe it's just taken him a while to relax and let down his guard a bit.

Ed, on the other hand, is coming across increasingly poorly.
Has got to the stage where I'd much rather see Ed and Tahan out of the house than Matt.

Had to laugh at Tim's prawn comment though. So true.
