House full of actors, auditioning next year, etc

It's obvious that the house is full of media wannabes this year. But...did they audition the 'normal' way and just do well in auditions based on their background? Or did they get special treatment/automatic entry based on who they know? Does anyone even know? I'm considering auditioning next year, but don't want to if I'm only going to waste my time...

I wouldn't be surprised if some were hand-picked outside of auditions...

There was a pic of Jasmin at the auditions, so at least she got in the right way :-)

I think what people don't understand is that people audition for the show knowing that they will be on TV. So of course you will have people who have already tried to be in the media and are using this show to try to get relevant. I doubt they will look for potential housemates through agencies as they already have hopefuls auditioning.

However if experience in media gets you in the house im going to audition next year cause I was an extra in "Knowing" lol

I want to audition next year though pretty sure I have zero chance.
If you buy into the theory of BB scouting for HMs from agencies (I don't) just go create a StarNow profile and pay the $300 to make a Ripley's one. Should up your chances! :)

I bet at some stage the producers decided to help out the masses of jobless media students by boosting their profile thinking we may as well help someone that needs the experience rather than someone who is really just far from that scene and would not benefit

haha :) Well if that is all true they wouldn't have picked people like Drew, Mikkayla, the Sisters or Ben. Don't think they have dipped their toes into the industry.

If you don't have some kind of acting/modelling/entertainment/media experience, you're competing for one of about a quarter of the places in the house. And even for those, an interest in the media is preferred. If you're an ordinary person who is just fun and entertaining you need to think twice if you seriously want to get on the show.

If the trend continues, the show could well be renamed Australia's Next Top Breakfast Radio Announcer in a few years.
