Have I Missed Something Regarding david DESPERATE to See Penny Get Pregnant?

Look, guys, there is absolutely nothing weird about a confirmed bachelor of 31 getting a maniacal look in his eyes as he says over and over, the world needs more people like you, you absolutely must not give up on love - I was so surprised! I didn't know the two were linked - over and over and over, on a previous ep; and then last night, 'you're a beautiful soul, Penny...that's why you need to become a mother, you need to pass on your gift...it's not that you want to have babies, you need to have babies, the world needs you to have babies, the world needs little Pennies.'

Nothing. Weird. Here.

Clearly Dave is an otherkin, and I would appreciate some respect for his buried and projected need to procreate his kind.

We didn't get to see it but BB asked David to show Penny around the house when the newbies moved into the house...( we only saw each footage of Tom,Richard and Lina being shown the ropes by Skye,Lawson or Aisha)
Remember Penny once bloated out her tummy to look pregnant and David was asked to put his hands on her belly like an expectant father.... so maybe they have spoken/joked about her desire to have kids or something?
Yes, clearly there is a back story to it that we haven't been shown. They have obviously talked about this topic a lot, anyone can see that. Except the halfwits on here that are calling it "creepy" lol. Smh.

They seem like such a strange couple.
...strangest, most awkward and cringeworthy couple.
Its like...beauty and the beast, except genders are swapped.

I mean Lady Gaga is famous and all...but he is just too good for her.

Aw, that's actually really sweet :inlove:

Not sure what the problem is tbh. Yeah it's an awkward thing to say but sweet none the less.

He wasn't talking about himself though

He was pretty awkward with Sandra too.

He probably is feeling the pressure to settle down at this stage of his life, yet has limited experience when it comes to actually romancing a woman. As a result, when he comes across a woman around his age that he sees as a potential candidate, his interactions are going to be awkward. He simply does not know the right way to make a connection or express his interest. He really doesn't seem to know how to interact with women, and it's simultaneously endearing and infuriating.

Another scenario would be he was trying to make Penny feel uncomfortable on purpose, done as a joke to entertain the "boys". That would actually be worse, if it were the case.

I still like David, but with the limited footage we get fed, instances like this do come across as very strange and out of place. Context is important, but we're never going to get it this year.

"it's simultaneously endearing and infuriating"

I think your post sums up how I feel the best about the exchange last night. Also how I see David too. Plus your take on needing context.

I have found that David doesn't always express himself well but that it doesn't mean that he is coming from a bad place either. I have felt sorry for him in the last few weeks the most because his awkwardness is becoming more noticeable. But I think he is being a little more serious now or he has always been that way and I only just have noticed it. I think being too serious can hinder a connection so I hope he just takes it easy at times. And there did seem to be a seriousness in what he was saying to Penny. But for some reason I also thought there was an element of raising her spirits. Like you said, endearing and infuriating.

I've given up hope of them giving us much more footage on anything tbh, context means nothing for them, but for the audience it's the line between understanding or judging a hm. Most times it will be the latter because of these edits because we cannot appreciate a hm with very few scenes. That's just the way it is though *sigh

He is as great around women as Travii is with proper English/spelling & longterm financial decisions

Haha thats an interesting fact but I meant he sometimes doesn't deliver the stuff he says that well and people are saying it sounds creepy but he's not saying it in a way of "I want you to have my babies Penny" or implying sex he's just making her feel good about herself saying there should be more of her (as opposed to more of Skye's) lol

if that makes sense?

Sometimes? lol I'd say that Dave's delivery of a lot of the things he says is almost always slightly 'clumsy', especially when it comes to interacting with females he might have more than just a passing PLUTONIC interest in hence the awkward interactions between him and both Sandra and Penny.

It's just who he is and I suspect it's a large part of the reason why he hasn't found a long term partner thus far, in spite of the fact that he claims he's the one that normally ends it if he's 'not feeling it' after 6 weeks or so.
