Sounded like some sort of in joke between them. Penny was totally getting it and participating, none of the guys were looking at him going wtf like they would have it had been weird and random.
Most conversations do sound weird when we're not given the backstory, which is the story of BB this year. Not the first time assumptions are made over soundbites of a conversation.
