Hey serious question. Do you poke around and have a sneaky look in their drawers and stuff? I am not sure if I could control myself not to breach the housesitee's privacy!!
I have a gf who house sits here on the coast, and she probably spends 12 weeks a year in other people's homes. She has a 28 year old son still at home and she enjoys the break from him.
Hey I have a gripe!
How is this for cheeky?!
We needed a sparkie to connect power and install a fan/light into our gazebo. He quoted us $600. Anyhoo, yesterday I get the account and he has charged us $920!!!!

That's odd indeed. I am sure they were lying in wait and would do so for the rest of time until you wandered in again. My pizza shop which has changed ownership three times since I've been going there but have maintained the menu, and only charge me $10 for my convoluted pizza. They should charge me around $15 I reckon with what I have on it. I ring up, say 'it's Fiona, my usual please and go mental with the garlic and I'm on my way'. Simple, direct and oh so good when I eat it.Totally not allowed, I'm certain. Follow up on it and ask him, there probably will be an explanation but I'm pretty sure they need to at least tell you. Otherwise our mate Tracy Grimshaw will love this
I remember once I went to this takeaway place and then I went again several months later and they tried to charge me more as they had undercharged me previously. I know I am extremely memorable, but I'd only been once before over 6 months ago, have they really been waiting all this time for me to come back? I said that no it was there mistake (supposedly) so no way am I paying. Sorry not really the same thing at all, but it reminded me nonetheless.

Mailman just came and in the pile was a letter and cheque from NSW lotteries
Back in May 2012 I won $1143.15 and never realised it ... Because I was registered at the time they've traced me and mailed out a cheque
It's like finding $20 tucked in a winter coat at the start of winter ... Only much much betterHad so many expenses for son's graduation again this year this will put a big dent in those

My Grandad used to come around every Saturday for roast dinner ... He was widowed when my mum was 20 and never remarried ...anyhow Grandad loved crosswords and would sit with me and we'd work on those and the old Target puzzles.. 9 letters 1 highlighted ... Find as many words of 4 letters or more and the 9 lettered word especially ... I probably wasn't really that helpful with the crosswords at 6 or 7 but he let me think I was and instilled a love for all sorts of puzzles ...words and numerical ... I love the samurai sudokus (5 of them interlocked) that used to be in the weekend paper but seem to have disappeared. I hope someday I find something with my grandchildren (if we end up with any) that I can nurture a love for within them ... Something special that will always remind them of meCan't do them for quids. Crosswords for me but not cryptics. Very ungood at them, lol.
One lady in an internet cafe I've frequented of late always puts me on a computer where the headphones are plugged into as I asked her last week for some. My laptop was poorly so I had to get my fix of fb games there.Yeah I know, I started thinking they had my photo up or something, pretty sure I wasn't actually undercharged but I'm so shocking with numbers I'd never know anyway.
I love having the type of relationship with food places, or in fact any customer service. It's been a while, but when I was younger I acquired so many friends in stupid places like fast food joints and service stations and I'd get so many freebies. That just tells you how much I frequented those places though.
My mother does the cryptic and straight crosswords in the Age every day. She instilled in me a liking for them. For jigsaws online I go to jigzone.com I am useless with numbers so a sudoku is not on my radar. I like doing quizzes too. Must be the many I did in Cleo etc.My Grandad used to come around every Saturday for roast dinner ... You did very well.I had these two taxi drivers, they were so good, I'd just call or text their mobile and they'd come straight to me as soon as they could. One would actually still drive me around even if she wasn't working and I'd just give her $15 or thereabouts - MUCH cheaper than a taxi. Sometimes she refused to take any cash though. I haven't used these services in years though, I guess they were the original uber.
I made friends either this sweet teenage boy at Hungry Jack's and he'd text me if he was in drive thru and he'd just give me sooooo much food.
This guy at a BP said he could set his watch to when I would appear in store (usually very late at night/early in the morning) and he too started giving me free stuff. Same with this guy at a kebab shop actually.
There are more but I forget. I think people must feel sorry for me or something!
If you are registered, shouldn't they have found you earlier? Isn't that what registration is for?Woooofknhoooooooooooo

Are they even allowed to do that?
Did the original quote say that the price was approximate?
Did they have to instal a seperate line from the meter box for it? Cos that can cost heaps. When we did our house renos, lots of re-wiring (old house) and new power points inside. We wanted power connected to the shed, but that was going to cost more then all the inside work. 7years later it's still on the wish list.
That's the thing. He had no real explanation as to why. Just a lot of "I can give you an itemised bill", "I don't work to lose money" and "that amount was never written down".Totally not allowed, I'm certain. Follow up on it and ask him, there probably will be an explanation but I'm pretty sure they need to at least tell you. Otherwise our mate Tracy Grimshaw will love this
