Earlier in the year I wore a Kmart dress to a wedding (not anything too formal obviously) and people kept asking about and I didn't want to say since everyone else was so posh/fancy, next time I'll proudly say it so they can (hopefully) marvel. Possibly at least one person knew where it came from. I think the key was accessorising it with Chanel and Tiffany & co, but I'd happily wear head to toe Kmart if I'm being honest.

Of for sure, I love the shock value of "NO WAY!" showing you can dress up a basic from Kmart of all places, I mainly do their homewares though, have put a spin on some too, some fun little projects

Nope they gave me their between this and this window, so of course, sitting around waiting :bang:

Yes, well we've all seen what you are capable of with the homewares and I'm sure that's just the tip of it. Pretty keen to make an attempt myself soon.

So annoying with trades people. It's been a while since I've waited on them personally but it's so frustrating.
 
Hey just popped in quickly while I'm on my lunch break.... I logged in last night and meant to post a debrief, but I was so exhausted I could barely even think.
@Trala totally agree about either needing to pee or being thirsty, the only thing that is worst is when it happens at the same time.... Which seems to happen a lot!
Day three now and I now know the residents names and know each residents routine.... Kind of don't want this week to finish.
Thank you for the advice, been washing my hands like crazy and now they are a bit dry... Mental not: need to buy some hand moisturizer.
I'll come back on the weekend, between workplacment and actual work I am exhausted... Not time for BBB.... Nice to see people chit chatting away tho... Oh and just one more thing, can't stand K mart, much prefer Target.

Oh keep forgetting to say - @Trala - Mr C has been watching the walking dead, I was all, I ain't watching that! I get too freaked out about stuff like that!! But it's even sucked me into watching it!! Tho I do have do to the " can I look yet?" Luckily he's used to me, cos I did a lot of hiding behind the pillow in Game of Thrones!

Sounds great. Well minus the Kmart bashing obvi but that's all very positive - so glad to hear it's going well.

More so when its to fix a mistake they made originally! Been good though, lots of housekeeping and paperwork done

that really gives me the shitzus - like their time is more valuable than yours so you just wait and wait - they all have cell phones - they can't call at least and tell you sorry been held up on this job - we'll be delayed until whatever hour they CAN turn up!?! ...

that and waiting on quotes for work ... if people don't WANT to quote on the job why not be honest with you and tell you so you can get other people to come and look at it ... instead you wait and wait and chase them up and leave messages ... ARRRGGGG don't get me started!!!

So frustrating, my painter delayed me 3 weeks cos got stuck on another job, I understand it happens, but 3 weeks

sorbolene works well for dry hands

another thing my mum used to do for cracked skin on her hands was just before going to bed to rub vaseline on them and then put cotton gloves on - she swore by it - said her hands would feel lovely soft and smooth the next morning ... I haven't personally tried it but I've read others putting lots of moisturiser on their hands and then wearing gloves to bed ...

You are way more productive than I ever would be. I'd just be like "no point doing anything in case they come". I tempted fate recently with a car guy coming over (I forgot that I actually have had trades people recently) and made a quick phone call at 11 as he said it'd be between 11-1, he came over almost right on 11. Always the way.

Yeah you're right, it is pretty shitty. Imagine the reverse and telling a business you'll be coming in sometime within a broad window of time so can they just plan around it. And really they'd be more incentivized to comply I think because they are making money off it. I know its just the way it is and one of those things where you can't predict exactly how long things take, but it's really annoying!

and we have to take a day off work to wait around on them ... if we're lucky (like me) and work close to home we can just take a couple of hours (hopefully!) off when they're due to come ... but losing a day's wages or sucking up your annual leave for NOTHING really p's me off ...

Yep totally. I wonder if there's any solution that pleases both sides. Probably not.

Well once I had an NRMA dude coming and I was getting texts with updates, still that's obviously a big company with a system to do that, smaller businesses can do that I guess. It'd be good though.[DOUBLEPOST=1447213200][/DOUBLEPOST]

Haha yep. Maybe the key is to leave the house and be far from from home and then they will definitely turn up then and there.
