Yeah I wonder this too, like when you feel a bit seedy when you're yet to shower or whatever, how obvious is this to the nostrils around us I wonder.

As for my sister, haha yes she does know. She's a bit of a dirty hippy and even when through some weird phase of not wearing deoderant, yet she didn't actually smell that bad. But yes she knows that her periods apparently reek at times and doesn't seem bothered. If it was me I'd never leave the house during that time and the surrounding days just in case.

yeah but most girls / women,,,even on their best day, they remove their undies and their partner tries to pleasure them in the most loving and intimate way , only to be greeted by a wafting aroma equivalent to the inside of a sweaty shoe :/

in days gone by i could feel whether partner was about to have period or was in the midst,...and not just via sight of spotting etc,,,,i mean the insides feeling of the partner would be ultra ultra smooth and very unnatural and because MANY women get more turned on by sex when they are in the midst of their cycle, they seldom tell the man for fear of repulsion or the like

i am a menstrual detective.....so watch out

Hrm good question. I can't really think of anything that's really comparable to period talk. In my experience at least the same topics usually come up with both my straight and gay friends. I guess the ins and outs of anal sex and the sometimes disastrous results don't come up too often with the straight males unless it's trying to get me to convince their girlfriends. On a deeper level I guess what 'bonds' gay men the most would be the whole gay experience of i.e. coming out, dealing with dickheads. It's a unique thing that unless you've gone through yourself you can't really get like how only women really understand periods.

I'm not so sure about vaginal smells but for everyday body odour I'm always of the opinion that if I can smell me then everyone else can. Whether that's all in my head I don't know and I've be told my au naturel smell isn't that unpleasant. I still have an extensive perfume collection.
 
Some guys really smell too I think, I mean really smell. The showering down there regularly should be a two way street.

In saying that a study found that men showered more than women- so yes, I agree, shower regularly down there.

I'd say that that's a good ideology to live by. I do take personal hygiene pretty seriously, and yet there's very few adults I have encountered that are truly on the nose.

Yes, and men should bathe as well. Groins of both genders can be a bit wiffy at times, more so if there's excess weight involved. Skin folds can harbour many a smell and let's not mention an uncut, less than fresh member.

I hope you're talking from past experience as I think your hubby might be a little alarmed if you're still doing market research. :p You're right though some guys really need a crash course and I image straight guys probably wouldn't give it as much thought as gay guys. Especially with uncut guys as I think with the whole generational shift from cut to uncut some important lessons were forgotten when they were children about the importance of cleaning thoroughly.

I have been on record, on Melbourne radio many years ago, as saying that I would suggest that most women prefer a cut penis.
