So true..im a forgiving person, and unfortunately I have been walked over by some people, I think I will accept his friends request but not yet, wait a few days and maybe think about it. When I had the courts getting money from his wages after awhile he decided to become unemployed so I couldn't get any more money out of him.. To me that's a low act, one that is hard to forgive. I certainly learnt a valuable lesson though... Never lend money to anyone. If I know someone that's having a hard time financially, I will help them out, but I won't lend money and esp not large amounts

Yes, I'm similar, but I see people around me really hold onto things and I think they do themselves a disservice in the process. It's seriously easier to just let some things go.

The operative word being some, and in your case, yes, purposely becoming unemployed is incredibly low and probably speaks volumes about his character.

It sucks you had to learn the hard way with the money, it's a good lesson to learn though. I learnt that myself, though not in quite such large volumes as yourself, and since then I'm the same; I'll help out a friend but I'm hesitant to lend money as such.

I personally can't imagine borrowing money off a friend or even a partner, but that's just me.

Well like I suppose you would be more forgiving of someone accidently littering the ocean, but you would not be so forgiving of like a big evil company dumping their rubbish into the sea? I imagine you would get so sick of it that you would lead the other merpeople in waging a war against the evil company. A war that will rage on for decades, and destroy your beautiful merpeople cities. Devestated, but still with faith in your heart that you will prevail, you launch one final attack on the evil company's ship. After a long battle the merpeople win and the evil president of the evil company is tried, executed, and delicious on toast.

I agree intent is a consideration, so too greed in some circumstances. I like your analogy. I'm forgiving of individuals, but not so much a greedy plague of humans.

Surely this guy must know he's stretching his luck. Does he want something or does he just have a goldfish memory I wonder.

I do consder myself a forgiving person, but I do wonder how forgiving I would be if somebody did something really bad to me.

You seem that way on here. I guess there are three responses for anyone really (including one really cold one!).

I feel that these expensive weddings are just a waste of time. All this fancy schmancy wedding stuff makes me feel sick. Lucky I have only been to one wedding. Not sure how much it cost but it didn't feel cheap. But I hated the whole experience.[DOUBLEPOST=1433725332][/DOUBLEPOST]

Ouch. That hurt.

Why ouch?

I know how highly you value my opinion on random things based on your propensity to ask me a myriad of questions almost every time a pop by this thread. But to be fair you do quiz just about every poster who makes an appearance here with a barrage of questions. lol

So I can only assume you've seen and watched Mad Max at least since I've highly recommended it, yeah? Or am I to assume the complete opposite and arrive at the conclusion that it's all a polite act on your behalf? :angelic:

I was ouching at you calling me nice.

I wouldn't say I highly value your opinion, although I do appreciate it. I like to question people so I can understand them so that next time I'll be a little less retarded.

No, I have not seen Mad Max yet because I like to make up my own mind on stuff like that.

What do you mean by polite act?

It doesn't make any sense then.

How can you form an opinion on what you haven't actually watched? What else are you using to make up your mind on stuff like that?

If my recommendation means that little to you then I'm probably wasting my time giving my input.

What do you mean by polite act?
I dunno, like I said in a PM you're erratic inconsistent (IMO) posting style (when you're being serious or 'taking the piss') makes you hard to read (to me) at times, that's all. Nevermind.

Can we continue this discussion over at my thread please?

I don't use iMessage on my iPad, in fact I hadn't used it in over a year, I turned it on to send a message the other night, some reason had old numbers I had deleted on there and all mixed up :\ awkward

Haha oops. That could have been bad!

I don't think I have ever sent a seriously bad message to the wrong person, luckily any time I've done it, it's been trivial or whatever, nothing to get me in to trouble, but I would hate for something more serious to be sent to the wrong person.

So I massively dislike public transport. It's been years since I caught a train or bus in my local or extended area (I have when interstate) but I live and work on the Central coast with a pretty poor public transport network, unlike the city, almost everyone drives and you can't really live without a car.

I make pretty regular trips into the city (Sydney) for concerts, gigs, stuff like that, always drive. Anyway. Going in to the city tomorrow and parking in the middle of the day on a weekday is horrendously expensive (I normally get weekend rate or night rate). Therefore I am begrudgingly catching a train into the city tomorrow. So.. tonight I think I should go and get an opal card cause it's cheaper that way. So I went to 7/11 and got one, just put $10 on it, then I realise that the trip tomorrow is $5.81 each way So it's going to be a little more than $10. So I think... That's ok... I'll go online and recharge a bit more. So I register the card online, only to find out that the minimum recharge online is $40. You can put $10 on in a store, but $40minimum online... What the heck is up with that crap?!?

So I think, I'll just register it anyway cause I may as well keep it for a rainy day, I just won't add any extra now, I'll put $10 more on tomorrow at a store ... Which I still think is a stupid system, but whatever. So I register without adding any more credit but now online it says my balance is $0. It's taken away my prepaid $10!!!!!!!!!! So now I have an opal card with no fricken credit. And why the heck do they care how much you put online, it should be $0.01 minimum. What a stupid system. And where has my $10 gone?!?

oh and whilst you're asking that @bleachy_dude - hey @Connoisseur or anyone else who wants to answer - do you have to have seen the other Mad Max movies to understand what's going on in this one? or can it stand alone?

@bleachy_dude
Like is not the word I use but yeah I've seen it 4 times and plan to see it at least one more time before it leaves the cinema. I cried once or twice (I rarely do that whilst watching movies) during some of the emotional scenes; visceral is a word that I think is overused to describe films but not in this case.

It is both a feast for the eyes and your ears. There's no doubt in my mind that the soundtrack plays a huge role in making the film the thrilling experience that it is.

In all honesty just about everything that's connected to this movie is perfect, it truly is a once in a decade sort of film and arguably (IMO) the best action film ever made and I've said as much in the movie thread.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never fully watched the other 3 Mad Max movies. I've seen bits and pieces of them when they've been on tv but I've always thought they were a bit to silly and campy for my tastes. Now that I've seen Fury Road I'll eventually get around to it but to be honest I only went to see the new Mad Max because I was curious about it being a feminist propaganda film. lol

So no, there are supposedly only subtle references and nods to the previous movies that are absolutely not essential to enjoy the re-boot.

Yeah my question was more related to the first three movies. I have always really disliked them and thought they were super lame. It sounds like this new one is different. You are talking it up so well I think I might give it a watch before it leaves cinemas also. I had disregarded it as I really never liked the originals.

Oops sorry I'm a bit drowsy and misread your question. lol

I get the feeling this is the movie Miller always wanted to make meaning he had the budget to full flesh out his vision. Filming in the middle of no-where far away from producers potentially meddling in his work also allowed him the creative control to make what many agree is a masterpiece.

Just don't go into it expecting a groundbreaking plot as it that is pretty straightforward, this is an action movie after all. The real star of the show is the cinematography (visually stunning wide shots) and the stunt work and practical effects that will leave your mouth wide open. I never thought that there'd be a day when I'd use the word artistic to describe explosions and cars crashing but that's apt description of all that takes place in this movie. It literally is like a thrill ride at Dream World (arguably better) but beautiful in a sense. lol
