...wow!... what a magnificent time my sweet darling wife and myself had over the weekend...our youngest daughter and her husband shouted us out on an all expenses paid weekend out in Sydney... (they are kind enough to do that for us a few times a year because they just can)... on Saturday just after lunch they picked us up and drove us all to the 'Novotel Hotel' opposite the Sydney Entertainment Centre and we were overlooking the Japanese Gardens from our hotel room...

...once we were unpacked and had a couple of drinks at the 'Pumphouse Tavern' we then made a long walk to the 'Star Casino' ... (or in my case... a long hobble lol!)... it was a hell of a tiring... (and eventually painful )... walk for me but with a few stops I made it!... we then went to their all-you-can-eat buffet where we all proceeded to gorge ourselves lol!... once finished we had a tinkle on the pokies and came out even at the end of it... (phew!... thank God lol!)...

...when the time came we went into the 'Lyric Theater' and watched 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' with Craig McLaughlan playing 'Frankenfurter'... I have never been a fan of his ever... in fact... whenever I saw him on TV I always thought ..."what a wanker"... he was absolutely fantabulous!... I have never laughed so much in life!... an absolutely brilliantly talented individual... I am a total convert on this guy... the show was brilliant... the scene changes on stage were beyond belief on how cleverly they were done... the music was perfect and the ad-libbing and communication rapport with the audience by Craig was fantastic... as you have guessed... we loved it!...

...we went back to the Star Casino for drinks and another tinkle on the pokies... at the end of it we had spent $5 all night after another bout of winning what we had put in... (what are the odds of that happening twice in one day eh?)... and that includes all drinks too!...

...we went back to the Hotel at the end of it and totally crashed lol!... Sunday Morning we all went down and had a smogasborg breakfast buffet at the hotel before we needed to check out... the daughter and son-in-law had one more surprise for us before we headed home... after putting all of our luggage in the car we were the taken to 'Guilyans Belgian Chocolate Cafe' for one last indulgence... wow!... I had a mug of coconut hot chocolate and some various chocolates that we sampled...

...they dropped us both back home and went back home to the Central Coast... what a weekend!... once we both had little 'nanna naps' we just lounged around and did nothing until we went to bed lolol!... man that was a helluva weekend!... cheers.
The star city's buffet is my FAVOURITE!

Sounds like a lovely weekend. I'm heading into the city tomorrow night for vivid.

So glad you had a wonderful weekend. I was a bit concerned about you tinkling on the pokies, though! I'm glad you weren't arrested!

...hahaha!... funny as!... I never thought of that while using that word Jam... it doesn't sound right does it?... I meant to use another word but which one?...

It's a thick, warm line between tinkling and fluttering.

...ah!... that's the word... fluttering!... thankyou for that Witty... lol!... cheers.

Has anyone seen the Benadryl (or some other medication) ad with the two children named Orlando and Leonardo? One of the biggest signs of being a bogan is aspirational naming of children from the last movie you saw.

Twin Peaks is apparently back on and now double the size originally planned. David Lynch could be an honorary member here for all the brinkmanship
It was always on. What happened a while back was that Lynch decided to opt out of the project because he thought he wasn't being paid enough something or other but Showtime made it clear they were going ahead with the reboot with or without Lynch.

Good news nevertheless, I'm definitely glad Lynch is involved as it would not be the same without him.

Hope you're enjoying the beautiful weather I turned on for you in Sydney the last 2 days
We keep saying we must go into the CBD for Vivid each year but still haven't done it ... THIS year is the year we do it!
Hope you have a great 2 weeks holiday :)

Thank you! I got the weather you sent! And the weather was fantastic. I always say there is no such thing as bad weather when on holidays, just bad clothing choices. I saw Les Mis on Thursday night and just loved it. On Friday night it poured with rain, so we choose to wear room service and a doona cover, which made for a perfect night. Vivid was simply spectacular!!!

You really missed a brilliant show. Here are a couple of pics for you. We were in Darling Harbour Saturday night and Circular Quay Sunday and it was AWESOME! I would highly recommend the trip to anyone looking to be left in awe by the explosions of ever changing art and colour. It can only be described as magical.

We still have another week and a bit off, and being home owners now, we are tweaking the garden and garage. I can't believe I am actually excited at the prospect of getting a compost thingy! What has happened to me????

My head is spinning with this news. Twin Peaks being one of my all time favourite shows. No doubt I will have to con my friend into watching it on Foxtel :D

I wonder if they'll have to go all Politically Correct these days. You just can't go accusing and lynching the nearest one-armed man these days.

I still think it was Log Lady.

Omg I will go batshit crazy if the show goes all "P.C". I wont even bother watching it if this happens.

"One day my log will have something to say about this" "My log saw something that night".:sneaky:

Oh it really isn't news GROOVER . The Twin Peaks reboot was first announced in the 2nd half of last year around August/September if I recall correctly so you're a bit late to the party. :p

Lynch later on (around January this year I think) said he was dropping out of the project because he didn't feel he was going to be properly remunerated for his involvement. Thankfully that's been resolved as now he's back on board with apparently more episodes than originally planned.

It is news given that major cast members were forefront in the online campaign for him to be involved.
This news does affect timings and contract negotiations and the basic quality and continuity of the show.

GROOVER can correct if I'm wrong but I think she was referring to the fact that she wasn't aware there was a remake/reboot of Twin Peaks in the cards, which it has been for almost a year. That's the impression I got from her post anyway.

Her denials would be emphatic. Her shredding and losing of documents, breathtaking. No one would be able to recall less than her.

I'd love to see that. She would come out on top and lay metaphorical waste to her enemies. Her tongue would cut down the weak. Her withering stare would make even the most strong willed person crumble and cry on the floor.
