Heartbeat Song by Kelly Clarkson.

Does the song match the beating of a heart?

I'm not actually orthodox, but as per my highly multicultural family I have a whole heap of Greek relatives who are, plus my girlfriend is Serbian Orthodox so between them all I get dragged into observing most of the practices.

My mother quite purposely never baptised me, not sure why I celebrate so many religious holidays.[DOUBLEPOST=1427971499][/DOUBLEPOST]

Lol that gif seriously gets me every time.

I got baptised twice and I only really celebrate Christmas.

Oh that sucks @bleachy_dude. It seems to always rain during Easter. Some of my best festivals have been in the rain though. Admittedly so have some of my worst, but let's be positive.
Lol! yes same. I've had some of the best experiences in the rain and mud at festivals haha.
Like I said, I'm glad I will have a warm shower and dry bed to come back to each night :)

Nope. But I got baptised twice. First time as an Anglican, second time as a Catholic.

I see. My mother actually wanted to christen me as she didn't really want me to be a Jew, but she didn't really know where to start with that. Was that your decision to convert to Catholicism?

I can't decide whether I'm soft or just getting old... I can't stand the thought of camping at a festival anymore.

Possibly a bit of both, but I am exactly the same, so no shame.

no, it was my parents decision to baptize me a catholic as i was still a baby. the two baptizings didn't happen all that far apart. i was baptized an Anglican in the hospital, and baptized Catholic in the church. i'm an atheist now.

Oh ok, well that makes sense I guess. I won't pretend to have a clue how these things work.

I'm beginning to think that nobody actually does.
I can share what my baptism meant for me, but that won't answer your question totally as I probably have a slightly different understanding from Catholics or more traditional 'religions'.

For me, being baptised was an act of obedience as Jesus told us to be baptised. For me, baptism is (and was) a public declaration of the decision that I have made to follow Jesus and accept his sacrifice for my sins.

Personally, for me, it wouldn't have mattered which denomination I was baptised under, it's not being baptised into a religion, rather publicly declaring my relationship with Jesus.

At my church, we wouldn't encourage anyone to get baptised out of a sense of religious tradition or just because it's the right thing to do. As much as we can't judge the hearts of people, we would encourage them to understand what it means. It's declaring that you want to follow Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. (We also don't do infant baptisms)

Sorry if this sounded a little too preachy. I just couldn't leave that comment there. I understand the decision I made when I was baptised and I stand by that decision to this day.

So some people do :)
