I have childhood horror memories of night shift. My dad used to do them. Days, Afternoons then Nights. I can remember Mum yelling at us "SSSSSHHHHHH your Dad is asleep" and he would get up and be angry at Mum - 'cause he never heard us kids playing and fighting - just Mum's SSSSSHHHHHHH. I think he used to get home around 7am and have 2 sleeps - a quick nap when he got home for 1-2 hours then 4-9 - left for work at 11pm. He used to say afternoon shift was the hardest

I'm doing 1430-2300 mon - fri next week. The best shift to integrate with nights which is what I have to do at the moment. I love nights 2230 - 0700. I get home around 0715 and can be asleep by 0730. I sleep until around 1200 - 1230, get up and leave the house for a couple of hours, come home, fiddle around for a littlw while then go back to sleep until 1800 ish. I leave home between 2130 and 2145. Thankfully I live alone.

Ugggh.
Drive safe, be safe and make good choices!
(I say that to my son after every conversation we have)
I made it! Finally home in bed.
I drove safe but I can't promise the good life choices.
Enjoy your sleep
Thanks for making it an enjoyable shift for me!
It was so cool having you guys to keep me company.
I have just devoured sausages, fried tomatoes, toast and eggs and an icy cold glass of OJ, and read the paper with my partner. Now its time for me to sleep.
Fingers crossed you won't see me now for at least 8 hours, so keep the noise down.
One down, two to go... Xo

mmmmmm I have tried to work out the meaning - to no avail - think you are on track, but who the hell knows! Did not know that Brian Ferry had brought out a new album. I looked at the lyrics, as well and it is all a mystery to me! Don't lose sleep over it![]()
Haha! Thanks for watching it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't work out that video's meaning.

If I may lighten the mood in here I would like to tell you all that my sweet little baby bro turns 16 today which makes me sad. But part of my birthday present to him was indoctrinating him into the world of McDonald's breakfasts since he shockingly only recently learnt they exist. He initially just wanted raisin toast but he slowly tried most things and he might just be a convert. I was always worried someone might corrupt him someday, but I never though it would be me!

Aww! I have younger siblings too. It's hard when they grow up. You remember them when they were little.

Happy bday to your little bro!
Well amazingly you don't corrupt him with McD for the first 16 years of his life.
Pfff raisin toast, how cute... And ridiculous.
Hope you got the mighty muffin!

omFg... Gotta share this, the @jessy_girl inspired banana smoothie. Just finished it and it was the BEST smoothie I've had in years.
- 1 banana
- 1.5 scoops vanilla protein powder
- honey
- baileys
- milk
- milo
- ice cubes
So tempted to have another

He has just always been the baby of the family being 10+ years younger than me as the next youngest sibling, it's hard for me to take him seriously, even if he is now taller than me.

I know, I simply didn't allow raisin toast, how lame. I did try the mighty muffin (as did he) thanks for the tip. I've always though this should exist, like I get one sausage muffin and one bacon one but I always want them to be combined. And now they are!
