Happy Fathers Day to the mothers who stood in for fathers!

And a BIG Happy Fathers Day to the fathers who took in fatherless children as their own!

This is a beautiful post @Trala ! So true, fathers come in many forms, happy day to everyone who has played the role in someones life, special beautiful people! Thank you for your beautiful thoughts! And Im thinking of you today too xxx
 
Well enough about fathers, dead, alive and absent and one two three back to me!

You can't even begin to understand how much I don't want to go to work today, and the worst part, after today I still have three to go!

With that said, I am off to support the tax system that supports Madonna and Mutleys huge gif collection.

Play nice and create mayhem in the threads!

Enjoy your super Sunday peoples! And think of me, working my arse off, covered in guts, poo and piss while earning double time and taking extra long breaks due to the hierarchy only working Mon - Fri.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, I have a guy with a sebaceous cyst with four visible pustules, and I am hoping after a hot shower it will be go time. As nurses, we can't lance 'em, but we can certainly add a bit of pressure to assist with the release if they start to erupt.

Cross your fingers for me!

I totally forgot about Father's Day, I've not had to worry about that for like 19 years.

He's still alive, he just lives with his "real family" now.


And now you make me wana watch all the new James Bonds, Daniel Craig is mine just saying.

I completely forgot it was father's day too, but since we don't celebrate it (or mothers day) it's not a huge deal. Never really understood the purpose of the whole thing anyway, bit like Valentine's day and Halloween, day's for big business to make lots of money. Oh how cynical of me.

I'm a bit the same actually, so many times my parents or siblings have been working on either Mother's or Father's Day so we have just celebrated it on a different day, sometimes weeks later. This is good as you avoid the crowds and jacked up prices, but it does kind of make you wonder what the point of it is, it's just an arbitrary day.

That said, I do still manage to celebrate it, if my dad is lucky he will get a pair of socks. I guess if nothing else it is nice to have a family day, well for me anyway, for some this would be hell.

Celebration is a wonderful thing.

Any day that celebrates or recognises love, or encourages laughter and happiness is a day to be embraced in my book.

Mothers day, Fathers day, Valentines day, Christmas/Halloween/Easter Sunday are all great examples of that.

It was wonderful seeing all the male patients, doctors and nurses being celebrated today just for being men. It brought a fantastic happy vibe to the wards.
 
Bought dad some beer and made him a chocolate cake; he reckons it's the best fathers day ever. Haha. I even put zucchini in the chocolate cake, since it's most likely what I will eat for dinner I thought I should try to consume a vegetable this week. Does it count when it's consumed alongside a cup of sugar and 100g of butter?

Quite possibly. I'll let you know once I've tasted it. As I said, I thought I should at least pretend that I ate a vegetable this week, since everyone else is having lasagne for dinner I'll probably be having garlic bread and plain pasta again...and I've been told once or twice that humans need to consume plant matter in order to survive...
