That is an awesome photo Sorceress - me likey a lot!

I would've been shitting myself to have a bird of any kind that close to my face!

Now I feel like i need to borrow a pet and replicate my picture myself.

Thought you liked birds on your face? Anyway if you need a pet for a pic, I got a snake you can borrow.

Sorry couldn't help myself haha

hahaha another one! Just saw your avatar Sorceress, love it!

You're next haha

Haha, touche. I think I'll pass on the snake though.

You know what's weird, just on the weekend I was telling someone how I would rather touch a snake than a bird. The irony.

paris 4.jpg

the maroon/pink you see in this picture?

My son's new girlfriend loves everything Paris and I want to make her a wall hanging with the pinkish colour being the theme.

I am hoping to have it around an A4 size.

Work your magic baby, and hello everyone!

...hey TraLa... what about her lipstick and shoes?... do you want them the same colour too?... or would it be too much?... I'll do a couple of versions extra so that you can choose which one you like best if you want... just give me a day... they'll be up either Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning sweetness... I'll also make them bigger than A4 so that when you print them they'll be a tad bit sharper when you print them out as A4 size... cheers.

...hey TraLa... we never ended going out tonight so I had a crack at what you were wanting... this is my first attempt at what I think that you're after... is it anything like you wanted?... if not just tell me what to change and I'll do it... I made her lipstick and shoes the same colour because I thought it looked more 'matching' so to speak...

...there are two versions... the first is the same light version the same as the original... the second I made a tad bit darker just to see what it looked like... (I like the first one better)... I made the images to be quite large... (914 X 1161)... your original image was only 353 X 450 which was just under half the size of what I've done... this new size is perfect to print out as an A4 print now... (I've done one lol!)...

...anyhow... if neither of these are what you want just let me know and I'll fix it up to what you want done sweet TraLa... cheers.

You are amazing, bro!

My hairdresser who I have done some hair modelling for wants to use my image to promote her salon  this makes me anxious

Do it!!!!!!!!!! I did it - albeit when I was from 16 to about 21 and I'm now in my 30s - but it was honestly one of the best confidence boosters I've ever had. The hair community is extremely kind to models from what I experienced and solely focused on the hair. I did a couple of magazine covers in Canada, salon adverts, hair shows, even a couple of industry commercials. So while I was shitting myself over these massive ingrown zits that would appear each time before a shoot (and pre Photoshop ffs) or when one time I looked like AstroBoy's twin, even rival hairdressers would rave about hair density, precision of style, colour take and all this other crap that made no sense to me.

Long story short... they'll make you feel like a million bucks even though you had zero participation in what your hair looks like and you have nothing to lose as only industry people and mostly strangers will see it anyway. Accept the massive compliment and go for it!! xo

Ohh! That is awesome, good to hear from someone who has had some experience with it, I have enjoyed the demo's etc but I dunno Im kinda funny with my picture being out there, I have said to her photoshop is a must! ;) Im in two minds, I mean its flattering obviously, and I have been toying for months about doing some fashion blogging just for fun so it may help my confidence with that, but yeah same time plays on insecurities :\ but thanks for sharing your experience, it sounds like was a fantastic time for you and thank you for the encouragement :D xx

I totally get the not wanting your photo out there thing as that's so not my style!!! One of the experienced models I was working with early on said that I need to look at it as if I had a pretty arm and we were being photographed for an arm convention. Or if I had great teeth and a dentist wanted to use me for an advert but my lips had to be included as well because how do you shoot a great teeth shot without the lips?! Yeah they'd also get a shot of my shoulder or lips which I might not feel as confident with, but all they and all the industry people care about is the arm and teeth. So basically your face will be in the pic but these pros couldn't care less... they're not judging you on that.

If you're interested in becoming a fashion blogger but just need a confidence booster I'd say go for it. Especially if it's solely going to be used in a salon. It'll give you a free chance to practice posing, work on angles, lighting, etc and realistically it's not like 100k people will see it so even if you hate it, it's easily buried. I had friends who begged to do hair modelling after seeing some of my styles (not Astro Boy) and the free trips I got to take so it's not like they ask just anyone as my buddies were turned down. Life's so short I'd say embrace it open arms! Worst case scenario you hate the pics... they're not going to end up on the side of a bus or even worse on tv without your permission so if you're ever going to try you may as well do it now!! Acting and modelling students pay people for chances like this. :)

Sorry I had to jump in this conversation. I have been surrounded by the hair industry since a child. When I was younger I would help my relatives in the store and as I got older I was allowed to deal with reps. Relatives of mine have started two brands of salon range hair care and I have seen the behind scenes of marketing and production. mutleyp, the shoots are actually really fun and never uncomfortable. My relatives just for fun had my hair made up (they are also hairdressers) and I did a few shoots recently, Mrs Butterface is right, I had the biggest confidence boost. I might put the photo up later in my avatar if I'm brave enough. But if you are wanted because they want to campaign your salon, then go for it! Think of it as a defining moment in your life where you can look back and feel lucky and privileged to be a part of.

Oh gosh! Every time I get my hair cut my hairdresser ties to get me to model for him, he loves my hair. I couldn't do it, to have my photo out there like that, same reason I could never be an actress or on the TV, I'd hate to be in the spotlight all the time. It would be fun to experience though I guess, but I'd want the final photos for myself, not the general public...

Although I don't know if he only wants me for my hair. If that is the case Mrs Butterface and @Sewwt_Geek, you have convinced me to maybe give him a shot. I could use a confidence boost.

I must say Mrs Butterface and Sweet_Geek make this opportunity sound enticing, go for it mutleyp, being wanted to promote your hairdressers salon is an awesome compliment.
