Tonight i am doing these ones, "santa" has finished his shopping for this household & today mr 3 was cleaning his room, getting ready for santa and told me that santa was going to bring him a dinosaur & spiderman. Santa has gotten him a dinosaur, but not once has he ever shown any interest in spiderman!

aajptt - so sorry to hear :(

Quick phone call or email to the slackest shopper out of the assorted relatives, tell that person to get Spiderman. Crisis averted - you may now begin drinking:D

EDIT: a 3 year old who cleans his room! He deserves a truckload of Spidermen!! Mine turned 20 today and his room is a disaster zone!

See my edit ^^^ ok you rush back to the shops now and sort out Spiderman. I will commence drinking for both of us.

Saturday is cleaning day, but as it's getting closer to xmas, i do the ol' "do you want santa to walk past your room, see you don't look after your toys? He will only leave you one! But if he sees that you look after your toys & keep your room tidy, i'm sure he'll give you more" And that's when he hit me with the spiderman!!

haha smart kid, and he obviously plays the cute card without even knowing it.
I'll never forget my oldest walking in on Christmas Eve to see all the Santa loot spread out on our bed, ready to be sorted into appropriate sacks. Had to think fast and told him Santa's sleigh had broken down so the presents had to be delivered early. He was really good about it and kept the secret from his little brother until morning. Is spooky how the mummy-fibs just have a life of their own!

Woah!! close call & good come back!! I'm not too good thinking on my feet, but that was impressive! Have you ever spoken about it since? as in, did he really believe you or was that the beginning of the end for believing in santa?

Was ok, think he had 2 more believing years after that...
his best mate's mum and I made a pact to tell them at the same time cos they were thick as thieves so we knew one would tell the other.
#1 always says he knew about the Easter bunny way before he knew about Santa, could not believe a rabbit could carry all those eggs without damage or melting! Was quite happy to believe in a fat old dude with a flying sleigh though, go figure:rolleyes:

Good thing that you were friends with #1's besties mum! would have made things easier!

I can remember being in year 4 & 5 and I was touch & go about believing & knowing it was mum & dad, by year 6 i knew, but my older sisters made me promise not to let mum know & to continue to "beleive' cos once I stopped, then they would stop getting santa pressies! I kept it up for another couple of years, was quite hard trying to convince mum I still thought santa was real with a straight face!

We were talking about this the other day, and my friend tells me that she was a full on believer, never any doubt & driving to school on her first day of highschool her mum tells her that santa isn't real, it's been her mum & dad all along. She was shocked & it didn't help first day nerves. Her mum's reasoning behind telling her then, was so she didn't get teased. I mean, fair enough, but surely even the day before would have been better then in the car to school!

A few years ago on xmas eve, my 9 year old was chatting to her step-dad while I ran around merrily singing xmas carols, getting a bucket of water and carrots for the reindeer, fruit cake and port for Santa. Apparently she told him that she doesn't believe in Santa, but don't tell Mum, she'd be really sad!

hahaha two quite different parenting styles there! Poor year 7 kid, what a way to start the day! And how cute is the Jamette, wanting to spare Mum's feelings!

Hope you two have a great night, we are off to celebrate #2 turning 20 without having lost a limb or an eye (though the night is still young).

and a mothering gif for us all

Jam - awww how cute is your daughter!!! :)

I just found out the police haven't been to the parents house of one of the kids yet. Bother its the names and pictures of the kids have been shown by the media and the mum is getting phone calls from family and friends. Someone rang up the cops and the news and tore shreds of them bogan style. Moral to that story only put nice pictures up on Facebook cause if you die the media will use the worse ones they can find and not even give your family the courtesy to release a befitting one.

Bonbon, coops, aaj... I think we all done good...
