London in the 60's!!! I so get the hand me down thing, that Im cool with especially within a family thing, we were the same until I was about 13 and I shot up I was taller than my brothers and had broader shoulders so I was allowed my own.

Reason I ask is because I was just invited to a "Vintage" shopping market over the weekend, I just can't get past the whole I dont know who wore it before me thing, no amount of washing/dry cleaning can dissolve my germaphobia issue!

Just think that they were all worn by someone utterly desirable, darling! In my case, RDJ! Clothes were all made by someone; imagine where those anonymous fingers might have been and what they might have been doing! Oh!...

Suddenly nudity seems like the only way to go...

...Audrey Hepburn really is your fave actress eh Jam?...when I was a kid my mum always watched her movies and I don't know why but for some weird reason or another I used to think that Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly were actual sisters... I guess it may have been because they were both so elegant and graceful looking or something... cheers.

And of course I look like their MUCH MUCH MUCH younger sister. Of course!

Melbourne, it was my pleasure! No! Don't thank me! It was the least I could do!

(Don't tell Elaine Benes about my exclamation point addiction!)

I too grew up mostly in hand-me-downs from my cousins. I don't think I had a new pair of clothes until I was about 15 and my cousins who were a year or so older than me stopped growing and I didn't. (I'm now a good 2 -3 inches taller than both of them...)

My grey school shirts especially were always hand-me-downs...

...lol! do you ever give them any of your hand me downs for a shit stir?... it would be fun to do that seeing that your bigger now... cheers.

I'm 45 and they are 46 and 47 respectively so .... no...

my old clothes now go to the salvo's or in the bin

...yeah... it would cost too much for me to send the clothing back to my cousins in England... even for a shit stir... the Salvo's or Smiths Family bins usually end up with mine too... cheers.

I've been an avid op shopper since I was 17 yrs old that was over 30 years ago and I've managed to avoid catching herpes. I wore Hand me downs as a child which I didn't mind. What I did mind was the hand knitted school jumpers and socks, all I wanted in the world was shop bought jumper and socks.

...everybody brace yourselves... I'm going to reveal an amazing fact... it will probably end up in the 'Ripleys Believe It Or Fuck Off' museum when I reveal it... are you all ready???... well... **Drum roll**...

..my mum used to actually darn my socks when there were holes in them!!!!!!!!!...

...there!... I've said it!!!... **Sticky feels a great weight off his shoulders**... wow that feels better!... (it's true... confession is good for your soul)... cheers.

I know how to darn socks. I even own a hundred+ year old darning mushroom. My grandmother taught me. Not that I've every actually darned any for my family other than the ones I did as a kid for practice. I have darned though, when my FIL swiped his keys across the arm of my new lounge chair and sliced a bloody big hole in it. I don't know how he did it with keys but he did. (He didn't mean to cut it but he was still an eejit for doing it.) I darned the hole and after 5 years you can still hardly see where it was. It was fiddley and I had to use a curved needle but it was a bloody brilliant repair job.

Such sad news about the 17 year old girl that died after falling from a balcony of a high-rise hotel on the Gold Coast.
So young.... I hope they all takes care while celebrating schoolies.
Heartfelt thoughts go out to family and friends.
