Did not know that. We have them around here. #2 son rescues one from the road frequently. He is cute but obviously not too bright cos he keeps sitting in the middle of the road (the echidna, not the kid).
yes the lil echidnas have no traffic sense and there is a law that only certain communities can take them for food. I was at a community on the coast when I was really lucky to be invited to they had turtle and echidna on the menu I felt sick. i had a tiny piece and said hey im on a diet lol
it hells me but thats how it is and if it stops the real bad whiteys smacking the population im with it.
Just to qualify that if the fullblood aboriginie pops wanna take these animals turtles dugongs stingrays they will do it they way it always was subsintance I am cool with that.
My bestie is married to a south sea islander, anyways he took her up north to meet the relos and she ate turtle, she didn't know what it was till after though.
