Exactly, but to know what it really means is somewhat of a letdown. Yes, throw it into conversation at some stage. See what reaction you get.I think I always thought it meant 'positive' but in a bit of a sarcastic way and relating more to affluence/luxury and (perceived) reputation and used in the negative. Such as 'that's not very salubrious, is it?' That suburb/restaurant/street is not very saluuuubrious.... So now I definitely know better...!
