So today (Monday) is my Saturday and Wednesday will be my Monday. 8pm ESDT will be my start time and knock off - will be when I knock off - probably the next day. Then the following Saturday and Sunday and Monday will then be my, Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday.

Just leaving this information for anyone that wants to know and for the ONE - who just LOVES to take notes and degrade others, whilst anticipating a prick or two!

Oh and if it is slow, at work - I do have access to the WWW :)

Ohh what is your Resolution?
Hi

Good on You

Nothing like setting goals and kicking them :)

Never too late, as you know.

You Go Girl :)

How is the nutless Franky doing? Has he settled?
I feel like Feb 1 is way more realistic anyway.

I was coerced into a semblance of exertion this morning so maybe it really is the day for new beginnings.

What are you actioning today??
I am feeling so motivated!

I am going to start each day with a 05:00 am walk, do yoga 3 times a week, swim 20 laps 5 days a week and eat better.

So funny though, at 08:00 today we had a breakfast provided my a clients family to say thanks for our care. We had croissants, chocolate and plain, muffins, hot cross buns, boxes of chocolates and a fruit platter, then my son found me and gave me a Cadbury Hazelnut Bar (my fav) for morning tea! It's like I have people trying to sabotage me in every direction!

Now that happens.

Many years ago, I had a co-worker (SB) that was about 20kgs heavier than me. I was walking 2.5klms each way to work, to get rid of 7 kgs. Every morning I came to work, there would be a Chocolate Bar on my desk and I knew where it came from. Sometimes she would throw lollies at me :( Talk about unsupportive! I lost the weight in around 6 weeks and left that job to a much better one, quick smart.

It was a really difficult time, I found that just being focused on my goal, made it all the better. And SB - well, I had many madeup names for her, as she tried to take me down............

Always good to have a plan - and the doggies will LOVE you more and more and so much for it :) Doggie walking, at the same time is so rewarding, as well

I never miss the 9-5 and after nearly 34 years, I doubt I'd like it should I have to go back to it. Enjoy your days off.
I have to say... I rather love not working nine to five. It's definitely one factor stopping me from looking for a 'real' job. Or ... a 'realer' job. I love that I didn't start until midday today. And perhaps its unusual but I just don't mind working until eight. If I don't have to start at eight or nine the next morning that is.

This week and last week my hours are 1430-2300. I don't get to bed until around 0100 and am up ideally around 0930 but it's been much earlier this week. Next week I am doing this shift, a 0930-1800 one and three 1100-2000 shifts. I have a few nights coming up which will be good.

sometimes you can't win though ... we have a coworker who was morbidly obese - loved her food and did no exercise whatsoever ... would plant herself at her desk and not move all day until having to use the loo or the kitchen ... she could sure hustle then! but even getting up to the printer 10 paces away was too much effort - she'd wait until we all went to pick up our stuff and delivered hers to her

anyway she had surgery last year ... removed part of her stomach ... had to subsist on tiny little cups of whatever for about a month then gradually add in solids ... its been really tough for her
knowing this we have all refrained from having too many treats or offering them because we know she can't have them ... even a new introduced food can set her off feeling ill and cramps etc ... we don't include her in offers for coffee etc because of the same reason ... at Christmas there was none of the usual chocolate treats sitting at front desk for all of us to take whenever the need arose ... because we've respected what she's doing and tried as much as possible to do the right thing by her

also before the Christmas party she told me now she hated people bringing up the fact she'd been so overweight ... she just wants people to think of her as she is now ... she's lost a lot of weight ... so I forewarned my husband NOT to make a comment or make a big thing of it because it might embarass her (this was first year we invited all the partners to the dinner)

now she's got the pip because she feels excluded from our offers (regardless of whether she'd be saying no anyway and because the intention is not to be tempting her with things she says she doesnt want/cant have) and thinks we don't care because we don't pass comments daily on her weightloss

so either way we're in the wrong O_O

Ugh I am so the wrong personality type to do the whole "be your own boss" thing. I spoke with a client on the phone today with the very specific goal of terminating our agreement (no contract) for a number of reasons. I ended up agreeing to take on more work with them despite not wanting to at all. Admittedly the extra hours make it slightly more worthwhile, but that was only one issue and I had specific reasons for wanting to move on.

I wish I was more adept at just saying no to people sometimes!

Being a grown up is hard work. Plus there are people out there that are master manipulators who take advantage of your kind nature Jessy. Never fear tho, after your bubba has arrived you will be saying NO! left right & centre :D

It's true - I wanted to get my mum to call them up and help me out but that hardly seems appropriate haha. This woman is one smooth talker, I guess I should look at the positives of having more work etc, but I will try standing my ground one more time and hope it doesn't lead to even more hours.

And haha yes, lots of "no" in my future I think!

You are so cute Jessy. I am the same and have a hard time saying no to people. Unfortunately some people cannot take no for an answer. You just got to learn to be firm and stick by your terms. Don't feel bad for saying no. You got to do what is right for you. You will get the hang of it. It just takes practice. :)

Got treated to a home invasion today - I posted on 'Today' thread about it .........

I am more shattered as the hours go on - what if, what could have been ..... whatever ........

It is NOT a place I would anyone to be

Stay safe all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
