My local KMart has undergone a restyle. I am yet to work out where things are. I love KMark (as my niece calls it).
It is so SO SO cheap!!
The quality may leave a little to be desired though. I bought two glass hangers with a succulent imbedded in black pebbles, and I had to soak off the scan tags. Turns out the glue that holds the succulent in place is not in any water resistant.
I am hoping when I get out of bed I will find the glue has redried. If not it will be a complete ($12) loss.
Is redried even a word? No doubt our self appointed Spelling Police Officer will be all over it like a fat kid on cake if it's not.
Oh those new ones with checkouts smack bang in the middle of the store and they don't have overly defined areas? I have one of those near me too, never find stock in that one. The old dingy warehouse style 24 hour one is my goto

The last time I was in there (Vic Gardens) it was a work in progress. I suspect that will end up as you describe. The middle was under construction behind walls. I do like the Frankston one (nearest to my parents) which is enormous. They can be very dingy and warehouse like. Speaking of shopping centres, Eastland is now open with their renos and Chadstone Target is fairly decent from what I've seen.Oh those new ones with checkouts smack bang in the middle of the store and they don't have overly defined areas? Just some useless information, my son use to work at Kmart, whilst at school, and they did a big refurb of the store he was at, where they put the main checkout in middle of store, and the quad desk, for lay-bys, returns and sight and sound right at the back. And loads of self serve. They do that to try to cut costs with staffing, but what happened was, theft increased. Stop it, I'm going to have to stock up on homewares which is so not what I need when I'm culling stuff and putting the remainder in boxes. What's one more box though?

The Kmart near me has the checkout in the middle too, I'd always wondered if it would be easier for people to take stuff. What's to stop them continuing to 'shop' after they've been through the checkout and just put it in the bag? Not like they check contents against the receipt at exit. Do they have those things you go through that beep at the exit if something hasn't scanned properly? Mind you I'm sure if I was inclined to try something like that alarms would sound and I'd be crash tackled to the ground but yeah. To me it doesn't seem like a great idea.
