Passionate?lol I wouldn’t go that far.
Curiosity got the better of me and wanted to see what fans of the show were ‘discussing’ about the narcissistic extroverts who have no qualms in sacrificing their dignity to be on tv and get their fleeting minutes of z grade fame through it. And surprise surprise the same old hypocritical character assassinations along sex/gender lines that were prevalent on Big Brother were present on the bach as well.

All I did was jokingly take the piss of a bunch of women (who apparently can fall deeply in love over the same some random guy vetted by tv producers, in a short period of time no less! Forgive me for not feeling sympathy/empathy for their heartbreak as I can’t say that I relate to their emotional distress in that artificial environment) by facetiously and flippantly calling them slags, gold diggers and offer up some alternative views (less judgemental) on the bach actions and the reasons behind them. Especially because nobody was standing up for the poor misunderstood male bach, it was a blood bath and thus I felt obliged to come to his defence!
And predictably that’s all it took to be constantly labelled a misogynist for teasingly "speaking ill" of the precious lassies and one shrill half wit even went as far as to screech that I was suffering from some madonna/whore complex or some other asinine claim.
No offense but if was suffering from that, I certainly wouldn’t be doing so over the type of women who go on reality shows. The bachies can have orgies with these females for all I care, don’t mind me.
Considering this forum is frequented mostly by women I should’ve know that some of my light hearted banter aimed at female reality constetants would be misconstrued and not taken in the facetious good humoured nature that it was intended.
That's disappointing given that it should be obvious by now that I don't discriminate based on the contestants sex. I've loathed many male housemates (i.e. Ryan, Benjamin, Michael, Josh, etc..) and probably being a fan of more female ones than males (i.e. Tahan, Boogs, Estelle, Skye, etc..). So it's terribly daft to be accusing me of misogyny based just on opinions I have on reality famewhores.
Perhaps some posters aren’t accustomed to the aussie tradition of piss taking and take every playful jab seriously, who knows? Although in my defence I direct most of my more pointed piss-taking at tv characters (that includes reality contestants) and not other posters.
Anyway it was evident that my contribution to the discussion wasn’t appreciated. Also I found it a tad creepy that some (not tarring all with the same brush) posters feel so invested in these reality famewhores (definition: individuals of both sexes who crave and are willing to do anything for a bit of fame, it’s not a reference to sexual intercourse), almost to the point that they probably believe they know them/close friends/relatives, and start trolling and abusing in retaliation for dissenting comments as a way of defending their honour or what have you.
If all I wanted was to troll I’d go to forums like 4chan that are wholly dedicated to that hobbie but I’ve never really been into that as I’m interested in discussing tv shows (and actors and contestants with in it)and not childish personal flamewars so I guess there’s was little reason to come to BBB in the mean time.
I distinctly remember a poster having a go at you using stuff you’ve shared here about issues you’ve had with your colleagues and have it thrown back in your face for petty point scoring. It’s why I’m very guarded when it comes my own rl as I don’t want it to become fodder for trolls.
Hmm... I thought you were done with Big Footy (you were sick of footy didn't you say?) yet there you are keeping track of me.![]()
