That's what you are not getting. We did all that. The contract was written up, after the price was agreed upon, had lawyers check contract for safety's sake as advised and she added a couple of bits to it, contract was sent to owners to sign and he signed it, but he crossed out the agreed price and raised the price by $20k!!That is just the usual, with 'under offer'. Well, I haven't had to wheel and deal on Real Estate lately, but if you do put an offer in, under the asking price - usually there will be a counter offer back. It is sort of like being at an auction or bartering. You fill in the forms and present your offer, they look at it - cross out your price, then put their next price - present it to you - you counter offer (like you have done) etc etc etc. until a price is agreed.
I would not have thought it would have to go to the Lawyers, until the price is fixed between both parties? Might want to make sure you are not getting overcharged on this fee, seeing there is no real contract until both parties agree on the price. Maybe google can help you with this process
He raised the agreed price!!
We once again had to go into barter mode and start all over.
All worked out though, unless he once again changes his mind once faced with the contract again...
